Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

Oh no nomless!! So sorry to read this, praying it passes quickly. Stomach flu or cold-type virus?

STOMP was excellent, they are very clever! We had a large group and everyone enjoyed it, some of us weren't expecting the comedy in the performance.

No, our day was not calm, especially dh's, it was one thing after another and how that man stays as calm as he does, is shocking everyone that knows everything that is going on. But, we think we have the appliances figured out.

I ran on the treadmill early yesterday morning, then we ran to the appliance store, then we went for a run/walk from there. And I walked Lucy for 2 miles in the afternoon.

I have Nursery duty at church this morning, sure hope it goes better than last week's did.

Waving to everyone!!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

Patty, glad you had fun at stomp. My illness was a stomach thing. I feel better today but not 100%.

Bopper, you might like the Aroma 3 cup raw / 6 cup cooked rice cooker that Walmart has for $15. It makes 3-4 servings of whatever you're cookIng. Also the Marion Getz rice cooker cookbook on HSN....it has lots of recipes for things other than rice with ingredient measures for 3 sizes of cookers. I also have the WP 1.5 / 3 cup cooker that makes 1-2 servings. I like using a rice cooker when I want to make something largely unattended and don't want tons of leftovers. For example, somtimes I like making only 3 servings of stew instead of a big pot full. I'm happy with both cookers, but am still learning how to adapt recipes. For example, when I made stew, the veg were done long before the meat. So next time, I'll use a more tender cut, will start the meat first and will add the veg later. And, BTW, it cooks rice perfectly using the rice and water amounts in the Getz cookbook. If you get a cooker, that cookbook is a must-have.

I'm still on the fence about a workout today. Might do an easy one or may decide to lay low for today.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

Morning and Happy Sunday Funday!

I just did the TG for 40 minutes using the Cardio/Strength dvd I received. I really like the new dvd's and got a good workout in.

DH went to the gym . Nothing planned here today. Want to watch the Michigan State game at noon. Then nothing really. Would like to go to the Rec show but for both of us to get in we have to pay 9$. Seems like a lot for walking around looking.

Nomless WP, is that Wolfgang Puck? I'll look at Walmart when I go this week. Thank you for all the info. Sounds good. Sorry your feeling punky...Hope today is better. Maybe no workout but rest. You don't want a relapse.

Pppmint hope everything slows down today. Sounds like the appliances are done though. I hope DH's day isn't as hectic today. Praying for DS that he is feeling better too.

We're sunny now but later this week most likely a Winter storm. We're not done yet!

Have a great day!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

Well, Bopper, I did 60 min cardio, but kept it pretty easy. At east I showed up. Yes, WP is Wolfgang Puck....HSN sells those and the Getz cookbook. Walmart has the Aroma brand, which is less expensive and has good reviews. I'm happy with mine for small batch, one pot cooking.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

Happy Monday!! nomless...I hope you feel better??

Yesterday was another crazy day for us, I did the baby nursery for the SS hour then 4 people called in sick that had the Toddler side for service. So dh and I took that...oh.my.word. It was kurazeee...lol! {#emotions_dlg.blink}

We went out for lunch then biked around 15 miles, it was windy though so it was a tough ride.

Today I'm going to CF(lots of heavy-weight squats in wod and 1-legged squats amongst other things), need some groceries, then have to be at the house for the appliance delivery and pest inspector.

I think we're leaving on Friday to help the kids move. We're buying them new wood flooring so I told them to take care of that(ordering and setting it up) this week so they can put it in on Monday while we're there, then I have the rest of the week to clean, unpack, and organize everything.

School was cancelled back home in WI because of the snow, over 5" and it's still coming down...only another inch today though. Kids are in the teens so I hope it warms up a little for the move. Local news said we have another month before we plant our flowers so I'm glad I didn't plant any at the house...and apparently didn't need to.

bopper...I don't like paying to get into that stuff either, we've learned over the years that it's normally not worth it.

Waving to everyone....have a great day! DH is ready to go run...

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

Morning checking in with Gym Intervals using the treadmill, TG, and free weights. Kind of my own thing.

Cold here too in the teens, and storm on Wednesday so we'll see what that brings.

Pppmint exciting for the kids this weekend moving and getting new flooring. Wish I could bike but it's too cold and we still have quite a bit of snow on the ground. Roads are bare though as of this morning. SS sounds crazy!

Nomless I have to check out the Walmart rice cooker if I get there this week. Thank you!

My friends baby grandson was attacked by her daughters Pit Bull and is in the hospital. That really threw me for a loop this morning. He is doing better though and he may be released later today or tomorrow. You just never know how fast life can change!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

I'm back to feeling fine today. Thank goodness! Thanks for asking, Patty.

I'll do some kind of workout tonight, but I don't know what yet. I might try the new med ball workout.

I hope the appliance delivery goes without a hitch today, Patty. How exciting that the kids will soon be moving...and you can help! I hope DS is doing OK. How nice of you and DH to chip in on new flooring.

Bopper, how scary about the dog attack. It sounds like the boy will be OK.....butI hope they figure out a way to keep it from happening again. Prayers for him.

OK...back to work. Good wishes to all.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

Mick, I hope that foot feels better soon. It gives you quite a time, getting better, then acting up again. I did 50 min cardio and worked hard. I did a good job. Moaners and groaners there today. Kinda crazy.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Check In

So glad you're feeling better nomless, you didn't skip a beat! There is a 24-hour one going around here too.

We're in the 30's again this morning, way below normal for here. Might see 70's on Thursday and snow again on Saturday...even though we won't be here.

I took my new Progressives back yesterday and got regular distance lenses put in them and bought a 2nd pair. Appliances are in and working, other problem we had in crawl space being taken care of this week, got groceries, credit union, Thrift store drop, and CF.

My butt cheeks are sore, lots of deep Pause Squats yesterday. Since I'm sore and have it again tomorrow morning, I guess I'll just run today. Maybe I'll see if there is a kb'ing class I can catch, been missing that lately.

MickD, isn't that frustrating. My hamstring where it attaches to my butt bone will never be right again from that fall where I broke my pelvis and tore it off. Actually, when I went to ortho doc for my leg, he said he can't believe I'm doing what I'm doing without having had the surgery on it. One step forward, two steps backward. Can you bike or something instead for a while and see if that helps??

bopper...our bike ride was cold and windy, not real enjoyable but we were already out there so kept going. Horrible about the baby, ugh, I can not imagine.

DS has to go to dermie every 3 to 6 months because the meds he's on causes skin cancer. Yesterday was his appt, the doc cut 3 spots off, 2 he said he isn't concerned about, the 1 on his leg he is very concerned about...ugh. That would be a nightmare I can't even process, for more than one reason. On top of the obvious, he'd have to stop his meds which would be disastrous. Just have to pray and try to turn it over, hard not to think about though. {#emotions_dlg.sad}
