Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi everyone, I am lost in cyber world here.   Pardon my mistakes.

I walked 5 miles today and then it started to rain.  Been cool and cloudy all day.

Nomless and Cater I am trying to find us again, so if you can help I sure would appreciate it.

Have a good evening.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi, Bopper, glad you found your way here.   I think the old thread is gone.   Stuff from May and June seems to have been lost.

I went over to do the bike, but it's broken.  Can't do treadmill or elliptical because of my foot, so I tabled my workout.

Not happy with new forum.   I don't like that threads are sorted by creation date.  I don't care when the thread was created.   I want to see the newest responses to all threads, be they old or new.  With the new scheme, it will be difficult to follow threads of interest.  Sigh.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi everyone, I'm still a bit overwhelmed with this new format.  I can't see previous replies and I'm plain confused.

I walked 5.25 miles today.  It's 58 here and breezy.  I know it sounds cold and it is quite a bit below our normal but for walking it's great.  Blue skies before rain tomorrow and Thursday so I had to get outside.   Groceries tomorrow.

Nomless how are the kitty and collie doing?   We're you able to go see them.  Is there a way to look at the previous replies?  I only see yours but then I guess yours is the only one on the new thread.  This will take some time getting used to like all things that change.  Guess we shouldn't throw the Community under the bus just yet hahaha.

Have a good day everyone!

Hi, everone.  First things first:

I discovered how to find this thread more easily

Open the thread.  At the top, from the Topic Options menu click Float This Topic.

Now, every time you come to the Wellness forum, this thread will be at the top.

Bopper, I took care of collie and kitty on Saturday.  They're so sweet, such good friends.

I don't know what my workout will be today.  If the bike is still broken (and it probably will be), I might try the treadmill for a bit, but will take it easy so that I don't aggravate my foot (I hope).

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

The bike is still broken.  I tried the treadmill but could tell it was going to hurt m foot.  So I switched to the elliptical and did 25 min. Wil see how my foot feels tomorrow.

Tony, Part, I hope you're still around despite all the challenges of this new forum app.

Ladies wait till Patty gets back here and see's this place. I find it to be too much work to go to the latest topics if there are many pages to go through to get to the latest posts. I guess I am too old for this big change.  Keeep your bodies moving ladies.

Cater, I'm with you.....this new forum is difficult to use.  I've done the "float" thing with some favorite threads, but am not looking at much else.  Because I can't sort the way I used to, it's difficult to find threads that are of interest.  And my personal settings don't seem to "stick."  I keep having to reset them.  All in all, this new app annoys me.  I happy for those who love it.  I wish I was one of them, but I'm not.

After doint the elliptical yesterday, this morning my foot is no worse, so I guess I'll try the ellipitcal again tonight.  I was happy that I did as well as I did on the elliptical after not using it for several months.  My time for 1 miles was only about 25 secs longer than my personal best.  I was pleased with that.  In the past, when I've not done the elliptical for a while, it's been harder to build up decent times.  I guess doing the bike these past months has helped my leg strength some.

Have a good day, everyone.  See you later.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi, I went grocery shopping and ran a few other errands.  Then came home and had lunch and walked about 3 miles.  I did get my 10,000 steps in so I am happy with that.  Grilling chicken for dinner and it's starting to sprinkle.

Nomless I'm sorry your foot bothered you .   The bike is a good option for you but your time was good on the elliptical too.  I'm not liking the new forum either.  Maybe we just have to get used to it.

Cater you doing alright?   What's your weather like?   Seems many are stiffling with heat and we are chilly.

Well better get some salad made for dinner, have a good evening all.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi, Bopper, good for you for getting your 10k steps in on your busy day.

I've been looking around the forum topcis and trying to get used to things.  Because I can't sort the way I want to, my viewing habits have changed dramatically....I will be following only a couple of threads, I think.

But what makes me sad is how many people have lost friends because of this change.   There are missing posters...either they can't figure the new forum out or decided not to try.....and posters here who miss them.  I know we all miss posters who dropped out of this thread over the years, and now this forum change has inflicted that sadness on many others.  I feel so badly about that.  I feel badly for the "lost sheep" wandering out there in cyberland looking for their friends.....

Cater, I'm glad you found us and checked in!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Oh my word!  What a mess!  Cater, I almost didn't post, when I was trying to sign it, it kept saying my email didn't match.  Match what??!  It's my only email I have!   I couldn't even find the forums!

What a week, been burning the candle at both ends.  Spending a lot of time at the beach with the kids, too hot to do much else...but, now there were 2 Bull sharks at the Virginia Beach oceanfront yesterday...ay.  We're a couple of miles away at our beach here on base, but it's close enough.  No more swimming out to the sandbar!

Speaking of which, I've been swimming with my husband and son the past few days and, whoa, that's a work-out!  I'm huffing and puffing like crazy.  My son said it's because it uses a lot more muscles than walking/running, plus you have resistance.  Which makes sense.

I did 8 miles yesterday with my daughter-in-law(and 2 by myself on the beach)...it wasn't as hot as the day before(105*), but it felt like the Bataan Death March to me.  As I've said before, she only has one-speed...fast.  And I was tired, have been going to bed after 1 and up by 5.  And then out in this heat and sun, it was a tough one for me, was so glad to be done!  We've done weights too, she said she's really sore from the weights.  I need to get back to the HIIT, speed-work, and weights more seriously next week, I can already tell a difference, all these miles aren't doing much for my muscles.

Today we're going to go SUP'ing(Stand-up Paddle Boards) then this evening my gf is having all of us over for dinner and is also inviting other friends of ours.

Last  night dh and I went to the Pre-Deployment brief for families. Smiley Sad  He's been on leave(vacation) all week and has been to work every single day.  Monday he didn't get home until after 5:30.  Then cancel your leave and go to work!  I was spitting nails on Tuesday, even the kids were irritated.

So sorry you're still having trouble with your foot nomless.  Mine is bothering me too, I think it's from running on the beach on that packed sand.

bopper, hope you guys get some warmer weather soon.  We're going to have 104* heat index today.  I see Pheonix is going to be 116*...ugh.

Tomorrow is the big Family Day, dh has been stressed over it all, hope it goes off well.

Well, ladies, I'm not sure I'll be here too often, maybe I'll get used to this new format when I have more time to sit down and play with it.  But, my first opinion isn't good...lol.

I hope everyone is doing well....miss you guys.   I hope this shows up...not sure at this point...lol!
