Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Day off!

Maybe.  I may pull out my BodyGym tonight to try and keep up with all of you.  I am going to hit the gym again tomorrow morning for another double with Ride and Power so I'm taking my normal mid week day break.

We are sweltering here as well (95+ all week) so be safe with doggies and yourselves as you bike/walk outside.  It's no joke!  Even Arnold would sit by a pool and tell the weights to forget it.

Happy Wednesday!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Cardio and lower body weights today.  I'm trying hard to make my legs stronger. They're not where they should be.

I have no news of any kind.

Laura, you did good at the gym yesterday. It's cool that you get a membership through work.

Lucy, I hope DS is better,  that DIL's camp is going well, and thoughts always for DH.

Bopper, I know Logan enjoys playing ball with you.

Judy, are you getting excited about your trip?

Hi, Mick.  Enjoy your day.

Hi to you, toor, Cater!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Happy Hump Day!  Right?  Haha....I'm confused.  Yes, dh flies in tonight...yay!

Judy...glad you're able to get back at it and found something you like.

Laura...A lady I went to Barre class with this morning gets her membership through her company also.  You're' not keeping up with me with the BodyGym...remember I wasn't a fan and gave mine to my gf.  I know a lot of you like yours and that's great, glad someone liked it! Smiley Tongue

bopper...I'm sure Logan can't handle it with all that fur!  I can't even imagine.  I saw someone walking a Sheltie here...one of the dark colored ones too which is even worse, and he was panting like crazy. Stupid. Hope your hair turned out!

nomless and MIckD, hope you're surviving the heat.  We aren't quite as bad today.  DH's heat index where he was was 120*.

I did join the gym after much consideration.  Had my assessment this morning then did a Barre class, kind of by mistake but whatev, I actually kind of enjoyed it...haha.  It isn't a fast and furious style class by any means but it worked the muscles with a lot of tension which was plenty after my walk and doing a work-out with the PT.  I think I'll do Body Combat and Pump on Wednesday's...I need to figure out the schedule.  I guess the class routines change every month so next week will all be different.

The PT kind of scared me about my shoulder...ay.  But I know when it's hurting and think I can figure it out myself.  Honestly, I'm more worried about my hamstring/butt bone injury...that's the one that could snap at any moment.  I've flown off the back of one treadmill at the gym, that was enough for me thank-you-very-much.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

I didn't see yours nomless...must have posteda bout the same time.  Yes...where is Cater??  Hope she is well!   Thank-you...ds said this infusion actually was the best one he's had so far...not as nauseous.  He worked a lonnnng day yesterday.

Gosh, I think I was going to say something else and already forgot...that's downright scary.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi everyone!  Still hot...same old story.  did 2.5 miles on the treadmill.  I really want to get out on the trail...just too hot in this desert!  My son who will be a HS junior needs to cross train as he is on swim team in the spring months....was hoping we could run together this summer, but it hasn't happened. will have to wait until fall.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy  I have never gone to our Pilates Barre class.  I'm not sure exactly what that is.  Pump sounds like my Power and Combat is I'm guessing Kickboxing?  I used to live in kickboxing class but Group Kick is not the same thing.  No bag to kick against.  Let me know what you like. I may branch out to other things.

@nomless  Congrats on all that work.  Now I feel like a slug.

@MickD  Ditto!  And how nice you have a running partner.

Stay cool all!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone!  No exercise for me today - I've got a bladder infection and not feeling well at all.  Maybe I'll feel better enough tomorrow to do a light workout.

Hope everyone is taking care of themselves in the hot weather.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@JudyL  Ouch and feel better!  Heart

Did my short Ride class and hour of Power this morning.  My legs are toast.  Tomorrow will probably definitely be a rest day.  I'm feeling my first week back at the gym big time.

Still no rain here so 95 plus again.  I am so ready for fall.  I even brought my beef stew for lunch today.  Smiley Very Happy

Happy Thursday!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Morning, it's a sun shiny cooler day here and I got out there this morning and did a nice walk.  I am noticing those disgusting tent caterpillar webs on the trees here.  It's just gross.  We had some on our apple trees and hubby burned them off.  Seems every summer they are there.

Any way sounds like everyone is doing well despite the heat!  We were very fortuante today to be only 70 and i can finally turn off the AC and open windows. I"m sure my electric bill will be high this month!

Judy I hope you feel better, that's no fun and just when things were looking up for you.  Take good care!

Iluvlucy your always so inspiring, tell us all about your gym and what you did today?  Yes Logan gets mighty warm but he doesn't know enough sometimes to give it up!  Hahah  I wish he liked water, I would get him a kiddie pool to lay in but he isn't a water boy.

Nomless, Laura, MickD, ( I am so forgetful) can't remember everyone!   But everyone is doing something and that's always good.  Be careful in that heat on trails and sidewalks it's so warm.
