Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Macca fans, look at some of the clips on his recent Facebook posts to get a taste of what a concert is like. (Pages are public, viewable by all.) An arena full of happy people who are thrilled to be there and singing with  and dance to every tune.

Good morning, all.  Looks like a beautiful coming forth.  @nomless, so glad that you had a great time at the concert.  You might be high for the rest of the year, lol.

Not much to say today.  Classes:  Body & Sculpt, Flexibility and Zumba.  Have a great day.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Wow nomless!!!  That's so cool!  Have you come back down to earth yet...lol?!

Annnd my mind is blank...seriously, I'm a hot mess this week but won't bore you with that. Well, I'm too lazy to try and go back so everyone will just have to settle for a "wave" today. Oh...Judy, I sure hope it works out. Like they said, give it some time.  DS's last rescue dog is still a work in progress but has come soooo far. Unfortunately, humans can really mess up animals. Smiley Sad  Seems I was going to answer someone else..but drawing a blank.

It's in the 60's AND we're down to 80% humidity...it's so nice out!  Going to go hiking today...by myself so if you don't hear from me again, call out a search party. Smiley Tongue  There have been so many bear sightings recently...I have to admit, it's always in the back of my mind.

I slept until 6 a.m. today...I was out like a light. I think I spent so much time outside yesterday that it wore me out. And DS isn't feeling well, that wears me out too. He has finals on Friday so just wants to make it through that..if still having issues he'll call his specialist next week. If these meds have stopped working, not sure what we'll do as this is it, he's on the top-guns...nothing else to try. But not going to focus on that right now even though you can't help it running through your head from time to time.

I guess I better get going so I can get home.  Have the garage guy coming today...getting new ones for the kids as well as have to choose ours for the new house. I want the carriage style but have to choose my colors wisely.

Have a great day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi all, I've been a little MIA.  This past weekend, I literally did nothing because I just needed to not do anything.  I traveled to New Mexico yesterday and it is like a sauna here.  One of the guys told me that it was 90% humidity this morning and it was already 70 degrees at 6 am!

I need to start learning my LaBlast routines for next month's sampler class.  I downloaded the music over the weekend, so while I'm sitting in my hotel room tonight, I'll start working on the first class (after I grade this week's assignment for my class).

I'll be back to my regular schedule on Thursday (Zumba!).  Hope you are all doing well.  It's hot in New Mexico and I will go home to more hot. bleh.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

I'm back.  Be afraid.  Smiley Wink

I know I was when I saw a picture my sister posted of me on her social media this week.  I knew I had slacked off due to my wrist injury and other things but I am at the age where things are starting to go south. I don't like it.  Smiley Sad

The doc said no push ups yet so I am really handicapped with weight training.  I decided yesterday after getting on the scale (I am up 7 pounds from my lightest) that it's time to get serious again.  With the cast off now, cardio is back to being my friend.

I dusted off the BodyGym and Fitbit.  It's on my right hand since I am still braced on the left.  I also pulled out my fitness log book.

Yesterday, I did a 35 minute run, three sets of 15 for all the BG exercises except triceps (hurts too much on my broken wrist), and some stretching.

This morning I did Pound and Power class (one handed).

I also decided I don't like my classmates very much in the early morning when I go to the gym.  They are not very welcoming so I think I am going to switch my gym schedule around and do more with the machines maybe later at night by myself or different days and classes.  I haven't been to Ride yet since I broke my wrist.  I may add that back on Friday am.

And I'm not sure it counts but I am now off to my first and last PT appointment for my wrist.  I wonder how many calories that burns?  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hey all, it's a gorgeous day here.   I power walked 5 miles this morning and went by the golf course and saw my buffalo roaming...so cool.  Every time I see them, and I've seen them a lot I still get excited!   The big one with the horns was staring at me!   Then the trail I like to walk, which I haven't been doing as it's still muddy back there and buggy, but anyways what I was going to say is on the way to the trail I go down a dirt road but the road is so over grown the grass is knee high so I haven't wanted to go down it because of the creepy crawlies so I took my push mower and mowed the whole road to the entry of my trail  LOL....It took a few times back and forth as you can't go fast or do the whole section because the mower will stall in the tall stuff so I did it in sections.  Now I can get back there.   I have to be sure to wear a ball cap now as the "deer flies" are terrible.  They are the ones that love your hair, poor Logan had so many on him but his coat is thick, they don't bite him but they buzz around him.  I'll do Pilates this afternoon as I need a good stretch.

Nomless Holy Wah!  How cool is that you saw McCartney!   Are you off of your cloud yet?  That will be with you always!!

Lucy hoping DS will bounce back, it's so hard to know.  So did you mean you and the kids are getting garage "doors"...I know you have to pick out doors but are the kids in need of a new door too?   The chipmunk is chewing the wood frame on my garage door.  Last year he chewed the rubber strip that is on the bottom of the door.   They are terrible and so many!   Even Logan can't keep up with them and the red squirrels.    Hope you enjoyed your hike in the woods, and didn't see any bears!

Laura so glad you stopped in, hopefully the last PT session will be it for a long time!  You are doing good though 1 handed!   Do you like Pound?

Foxxie hope your fitness class is fun today.   How is the hubby doing?

DrKelli I am glad you got in some rest, have to listen to our bodies and not over do it and then you risk an injury of some sort.   Sounds like LaBlast is going to be fun, proud of you for doing this!

MickD I'll let you know how the trail is, I already know it's "still" muddy, so much rain here.

Okay I have about nothing else to add here, watched Valerie this morning.  Still love how she puts things together and even mentions other vendors and their things.

Have a nice afternoon!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

I am adding an hour of PT.  That burns my arm out!  I was actually thrilled to get some muscles working again in the left upper body.  She also gave me 6 minutes on a fly wheel for my arms.  She said I could stop at 4 but I was still going after the 6.

@bopper  Pound is okay.  That is actually one of the classes I am thinking of saying goodbye too.  I think I might run or bike for that half hour before Power like I do on Thursday.  I'm not a fan of the teacher's music picks and I feel like we do the same thing for two months straight.  A week of a fresh routine (sort of) and then right back to what must be her favorites.  Unfortunately, they are not mine.  Smiley Sad

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Good morning group.  I hope everyone is well.  Looks like a beautiful day is coming although a little humidity is expected.

@Laura14, not only are you back but back with a vengeance, great!  Whenever I hear physical therapy, I cringe because I think of when I had it for my knee a few years ago for twelve weeks, it was very painful.  Sometimes I hobbled to my car afterwards, lol.  Glad you're  back.

@bopper, mowing fields?  Wow, lol!  With all of this exercising, everybody on here but be skinny, lol.

Yesterday I did three classes and a short walk.  This old girl was pooped.  Today will be a light day, walking only. Then to the grocery store I go.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@Mmsfoxxie  It hurts but it's not super painful.  I just want to get back to normal because I am over the healthcare system in general at this point, especially financially.

I did over 14,000 steps yesterday on my Fitbit.  Not bad.  Smiley Very Happy

This morning I ran another 30 minutes for my cardio and did my first round of PT.  I am looking to hopefully hike the park this afternoon after work if the weather cooperates.  I am already at 6300 steps and it's only 8:35am.  Smiley Happy

I am seriously committed!  It's time to get back into shape!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hey all, it was a very humid night here, didn't sleep too good because of it.  Went and got groceries this morning and Walmart told me they are going to all self serve check outs.  I do not like that, it takes twice as long and then if you have a price check you have to wait for someone to come...I know this will not go over with elderly people.  It's hard enough for them.  I hope others aren't following suite and I know it's to cut back on paying people.

I came home and did 30 minutes rebounding on the reformer and will go outside in a bit and try and do the trail, although it is so wet and so muggy the bugs are going to be horrible back in the woods, good reason to walk fast if Logan will cooperate and sniff everything in site!

Laura you are seriously committed.   I hope the PT helps and it goes quickly!

foxxie it wasn't an actual field but it was a dirt road but the grass had grown all down the center and the sides and it was too long for me to feel comfortable walking in that stuff, ticks and spiders no thank you so I mowed it all down.  Hubby thought it was funny!

Lucy how is DS?  I hope he is better and your house is coming along nicely.

MickD, DrKelli, nomless, Judy waving to ya'all!
