Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Good morning, everyone.  Don't you just hate it @bopper when the weather doesn't cooperate, lol.  @Iluvlucy, if you keep on being indispensable, they won't let you leave, lol.  You are the best kind of house guest.  My memory fails me as to what others said.  My mind is kind of heavy this morning.

I'm trying not to feel selfish this morning.  I mentioned in my previous post that the family wanted to have a birthday get together for me because I'll be 70 next month. I wasn't expecting it and felt very honored.  My sister whose home would be hosting wanted to do it on the 12th of August.  That's the only day we already had a commitment for.  Turns out that's the only Saturday she had open.  Now, one of my sisters that would have been coming from out of town has booked the whole month.

So, my sister who would be hosting, suggested the next month, September.  But that's the birthday month of another sister.  This began as a special party for me and now, it's just a get together....if we even get together.   No special me anymore, lol, boo hoo.

Everytime we try to get together we have this availability problem.  We keep putting other things first....until there is a death.  Then we say, we have to stop waiting for tragedy to bring us together.  If the commitment that I have on the 12th hadn't been made by my husband weeks ago, I would have cancelled it or if I had known everybody's calendar would fill up for the month maybe I could have talked hubby into canceling our commitment.

My sister just messengered me this morning about the no time left in August info which is why I'm feeling kind of down right now.  I'll get over it.  It's not like my family has ever been super close.  I just wish my sister hadn't brought the whole thing up.  Just let me have my birthday with the usual fake FB messages of love and well wishes from all of them.

Tuesday is one of my 'look forward to' workout days as you might remember.  Walk, Body & Sculpt, and Flexibility.

Have a great day everyone.

@Mmsfoxxie I'm sorry that your b'day/family plans got messed up.  Understandably you're disappointed....especially since you didn't want all the fuss in the first place!  I keep my family at 2500 mile distance......so no problems with calendaring.....easier that way.

@Mmsfoxxie, aww, I'm sorry you're sad. What a shame that there was no date when everyone is available. Disappointing to be sure.

@DrKelli, cool that you're getting ready for the certification day. I bet it will be a blast.

Lucy, no, I haven't lost any more weight, lol.

I'm still worried about my kitty, so I made another appt with the vet. 😞

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Wow, the necklace I bought from HSN on Sunday is already at my local post office today, so I'll probably get it tomorrow. That's 3 days! Q can't even get things out the door that quickly, lol. Wonder why H can ship so quickly and Q can't?

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Top of the morning to everybody.  Enjoy your jewelry @nomless.  Isn't it a nice feeling we get when a delivery is coming?  I don't order nearly as much as I used to because I have too much stuff and these delivery charges are so high.

Remember when QVC had all of the gold shows, much more than now?  I was right there dialing on the phone and later ordering online which made it way too easy.  (I was a stay at home mom during most of that time, didn't need it) and I have some right now that I haven't worn or worn only once.  14k.  I have a beautiful 14k gold watch worn maybe three times.  When the price of gold was high, I wish that I had sold it.

I'm trying to decide if I should get a pedicure today or wait til next Wednesday.  Big decision, huh, lol.

Ugh, I have to go to a VFW picnic Saturday!  And weigh in will be on Sunday!!!  My husband, being a vet, wants to go and I like going places with him.  Hopefully, there won't be anything there that I can't visually guess the smart point value of.  It's going to be a beautiful day for so I'm going to try not to stress about darn weight issues and just enjoy myself.

No workout at the center today.  Maybe a pedicure but definitely a little grocery shopping.  Then come home and do exercising in front of the tv while watching my terrible soaps. Life is good!!!  I'm shouting it from my mental vision rooftop.

Have a great day, Group!  Thanks for being my cyber shrink.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi all!

@Mmsfoxxie, I miss a lot of shows that are no longer on QVC, like Craft Day and Silver Style!

@nomless, when I saw that necklace and bracelet, I wondered if you would order it!  I hope it is as pretty in person!

Just the regular workout schedule for me this week.  I'm getting really disgusted with my spare tire.  My clothes are fitting very uncomfortably and I hate it.  I think I'm going to rejoin WW (online) and really get down to meal planning again.  I seem to fall off during the summer because it is so hot and then when I do eat, it isn't that healthy because uh--it's so HOT!

I started teaching a new class (through Univ. of Phoenix) this week, so that will take up a lot of spare time since it is online format.  I'm also taking an ergonomics certification course, which is self paced.  I'm trying to do 2 modules a week and I have until the end of the year to finish it.

Hope you all have a great day!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@DrKelli, my, you have a lot going on.  You'll do a splendid job with all, I'm sure.

@Mmsfoxxie, my downfall was silver and DMQ. I wore jewery every when I was working full-time,time, and I enjoyed having lots of choices. Now I don't wear of very often and sometimes regret the money I spent. But I enjoyed it and still do. Have to re-establish the habit of wearing it, lol.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@nomless I hope your kitty is okay....let us know what the vet says.

@DrKelli  Wow you are so busy! ....I did not see any spare tire in that pic you posted..whatareyatalkinbout?!?!

@Mmsfoxxie I think you'll do fine at the VFW event....splurge once in awhile!

It is still hot here...did 2.9 mi/34.20 min on the treadmill.  I have an ice pack in my sports bra right now!  Air quality not good this am.....cloud cover and it smelled like smoke...must again be from the ash in the air and on the trees.....

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Quick post to everyone - I've been adopted!  By an adorable male Maine Coon mix cat that is all cat and 19 pounds!  10 years old and an absolute love.  I'll post more later but wanted to let everyone know as I may not be posting much for a few days so that Monty and I can get to know one another.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  Yesterday was very rainy but it let me get home before the downpour came.  But boy did it get dark and threatening before I made it.  This morning is cloudy still.

Congratulations @JudyL.  Sounds like a good match.

No workout class scheduled so I'll just walk the track for about an hour.  I didn't grocery shop yesterday so maybe I'll do that after my walk.  I did get a beautiful pedicure yesterday, though.  With all of this walking, I find that my feet build up cruddy stuff much faster, especially on the side of my big toe.  The next time I buy athletic shoes, I'm going to get wide width because my shoes, although they don't hurt, they are rubbing against my big toe daily.  Then, when I shower and lotion up my feet, that toe stands out, looking very dry in my sandals after about an hour.  Actually, it's a callous that gets thicker during the week.

Everybody enjoy your day.
