Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Happy Hump Day!

Jogged to gym and met my gf. We did a warm-up on the ARC's, then lifted weights but went set to set without stopping so she was surprised what a cardio work-out that is in itself...her hair was dripping. We'd do push-ups, squats w/medicine ball raises, air squats, and Russian Twists in between the weight sets. She did a mile using HIIT on the treadmill and I did the stair-stepper to finish it off. Then we walked on the beach as our cool-down.

She really liked it(after we were done she saidWink) and is thinking she might start meeting me 2 days a week after we get moved and settled so she can start lifting, then will run the other 3 days.

Beautiful day here...humidity is down!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Morning, sunny here and cool..but in my opinion a near perfect day.

Just finished strength for today, using the TG and free weights...on the TG I was on a level 7 for rows...which was up from before, did squats ( not on the gym) held a plank for 1:30 sec twice, pull ups on a level 6 on the TG, biceps are bugging me because I have tendonitis in my left arm so I can't so very heavy at all on the left because it hurts too much...so tried alternating but the left still hurt so not sure about that....did triceps in several different variations, dead lifts with the heaviest weights I have which would be ( my sport blocks which I hate) but it's all I have..so loaded them all up and did my dead lifts 2 sets of 12 . If I had heavier I would go down in reps but since I didn't I did as many as I could. Did leg raises and bicycles, and ended with some yoga. Warrior 1 and 2, Triangle pose, reverse Triangle, chair pose and tree pose, and loved the Pigeon pose as it opens my hips...

Have a good day everyone!

Remember to check in tomorrow on the new August thread!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Hey all! Had a crazy morning but a good one!

Went to gym and lifted chest(did shoulders, tri's, bi's, and back yesterday) and legs, alternating sets with 1 to 2 minute sprints on ARC...then got on stair-stepper and gf texted me to come ride bikes with her and go out to lunch. So I did! We had really good salads and rode 18 miles...she said it's like 9.2 each way.

My other gf said she's sore all over but not so bad she can't move and she's glad I made her go down in weights on a couple of things when her form was slipping. She said she's plenty sore, but like I told her, not so bad she can't work-out again with a rest-day in between(today).

She's picking up another gf of ours tomorrow morning and we're all 3 hitting the gym together. That's the plan right now anyway since my foot can't take walking with the one as originally planned.

Anyway...dh hit the gym after pt so he's on his way and I guess we're hitting the beach.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Check In

Patty, the tjree of you will have fun tomorrow. It's cool your gf survived yesterday's workout. I sure intended to do a workout today, but I didn't get it done. Instead, I spent the day going through stuff in my storeroom, looking for things to put in a friend's garage sale in September. I ended up culling out only one thing and re-arrangimg the rest. Some things are on the bubble....maybe by Sept. I'll decide to get rid of them. I have tons of cookware, much more than I need, but why get rid of spares if I have space to store it? Better to store it than having to rebuy later??? Anyway, it was nice to have a day off work and be able to organize stuff. Tomorrow I 'm getting together with a friend from out of town who's come to visit family for a cpiple of days. I haven't seen her since last year, it will be fun.
