Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Thread :)

Well, I'm glad I decided not to go out.  The snow has been coming down steadily all morning.  I would be coming home in a mess.  I did my Sansone walk dvd and some made up movements of my own just to get some activity points.  when I make 10,000, I'll be satisfied because it's hard for me to go high point wise in the house.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Thread :)

Another crazy morning here...lol!  They told us to keep Kit shut in a room where she can't jump as she had a lot of anesthesia and it will take a while.  She had litter and cat hair all over the place...then when I let her out she went #2 behind the couch!  We have a chaise on our couch so it isn't the easiest to move.  Anyway, she is doing good...had 1 canine removed because it was cracked, the rest looked good.  I got up at 3:15 and checked on her, she was sleeping soundly but woke up when I came in.

Now DS is supposed to be at work but the roads are so bad he can't get there....phone lines were down so they were rerouted.  I just want him there!

What a difference 8 hours made here...70* down to the teens and snowing and blowing.  Some delays and cancellations but we don't have any snow sticking here...ground was so warm.  I know some are getting a blizzard today and saw -28* on the map this morning so I won't complain about the wind...seems higher than 20mph though.

nomless...I always wear my running shoes 1-size bigger but I'm still having foot pain.  I'm glad they're better.  If it's that bad, like Mmsfoxxie said, wouldn't hurt to have it looked at.  Glad you've adapted to your library work-out and diet...lol!

Mmsfoxxie....I've always loved exercising, don't do it like I used to but still try to hit it, I have some pretty bad injuries that really hold me back.  My tailbone being one of them...I was born with a birth defect on it, then fell in gymnastics and fractured it...so, yep, it has given me problems my entire life and will continue to do so.

Went non-stop yesterday, felt so good to get into my clean sheets last night!  My gf was a trip at the gym....oh my word, I laughed so hard.  Never a dull moment with that one.  She fell off the Elliptical...and she isn't discreet about anything...so loud! Smiley Tongue  Anyway, I did back-to-back work-outs yesterday and my body was beat last night.  We even went biking yesterday afternoon...until my tire went flat. Smiley Tongue

I have to get my stitches out today and hopefully get the results of my biopsy since no one called me back.  Ugh, my son isn't at work yet, my stomach is starting to churn.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Thread :)

@Iluvlucy, I think your husband made a wise decision not to get on the roads even though there wasn't much snow.  That's the way it was here yesterday.  In one part of town, there was no snow but it my part, what looked like a little, was treacherous for drivers.  Slick roads, therefore, accidents.  Like you, we had a warm day Tuesday only to wake up to snow in the low twenties.

Poor Kit!  Dogs can experience pain the same as we humans.  We don't have a dog and I've never experienced being involved with one but my husband loves them so through his talking about them I have a better understanding of them.  Not enough to say yes to getting one, though, lol.

He wants a boxer.  But dogs require care, like a child.  I'm sure he'd take care of the dog while here but if he weren't here, it would fall on me.  He's heavily involved with his fraternity as its president and attends meetings sometimes out of town.  A convention might be three days.  We (meaning he) have a big fish tank with about ten fish in it and when he's gone, I feed them.  Easy peasy.

@Iluvlucy, I hope your biopsy is good.

Take care everyone.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Thread :)

Foxxie and Lucy, yes, I agree with all you said re: the callus. Since it does hurt when I step a certain way, I think it might be wise to have it looked at, but since it is getting smaller, I keep putting it off, hoping that since I baby it, it will heal itself. Sigh.

Lucy, I'm glad Kit is doing OK. A relief to have it behind you, I know. You and the others in the path of the snow storm, be careful today. Record setting high temps yesterday and snow today - crazy.

Foxxie, good for you for exercising in house yesterday and avoiding the snow. Smart lady!

It will be cold but sunny here today, then back in the 50's tomorrow. It's nice that daylight is lasting longer....makes it feel that spring is right around the corner.

Good morning, all.  I woke up around 7:30 this morning which is late for me.  That's because I woke up around 2 am to potty and couldn't go back to sleep.  Sat up and played some games on my iPad and looked at FB.  Layed back down around 4:30 am.  It's doesn't matter much as far as later activities are concerned but I just feel a little off as far as drinking my coffee and listening/watching my morning programming.  Normally I've eaten breakfast by now and getting ready to shower and going out the door.

Weatherwise, it's going to be in the forties whereas yesterday it was in the twenties.  Nice and warm, yeaa, lol.

Enjoy your day.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Thread :)

Happy Friday everyone, getting some light snow and it's windy today, were at 20 outside, warmed up from 10 when I got up.

I rode my Xbike for  60 minutes and then did 30 on my Pilates Reformer.  I think I've found I like the machine again.  I hadnt' used it in a long time but pulled it out and have done it consistently for almost 2 weeks now.  I have the very original one with the brown carriage, nothing fancy and I have to adjust the rope handles which is s pain, I may upgrade, thinking about it.

Foxie and Nomless sorry about your bad sleep last night, it sure is common. Hear it all the time.   I slept pretty good.   I'm always so comfy when it's time to get up, but I pull off those covers and up I go!

Lucy are you getting the winter weather today.  Sure was crazy being so warm one day and snow the next.    Have fun whatever you do!

Will go out to shovel shortly and walk Logan.

Have a good day everyone!

Happy Saturday everyone!  Hope everyone had a good night's sleep last night.

nomless, hope your day wasn't too bad once you got your sea legs under ya. Smiley Wink

Mmsfoxxie, I've always been an early-riser too and love it. I like to get up and get crackin'...the kids were even making fun of me this past weekend talking about how bad I am with getting up early.  DS said if I slept until 5:30 I'd fly out of bed and fly around like a psycho saying "Half the day is over, get moving!"!  DH said "She still does"....Haha....it's true!  I'm really not as bad as I used to be though...I do at least have a cup of coffee now after I do my cat chores.

bopper, I love my reformer but my handles tie too.  I don't readjust them though so I'm not sure what you mean.  I may get the large machine after we move, there is so much you can do on it.  I don't do the bouncing but the pilates center I went to showed me a lot of different strength moves you can do, more unusual ones....a few of them really work and are quite difficult.  I think I sent you some pictures of a couple.

Yesterday was a blur...I took Lucy for a run...then went to class and burpeed my heart out...got groceries...then walked with Beth....then met my neighbor and walked to the gym and did weights....then ran home and we went to lunch and TJMaxx. Got some cute running tights even though I needed capri's...too hot at the gym regardless of the temp outside....but I get teased about wearing shorts when it's 15* out. Smiley Tongue

My gf said she's so sore she can't cross her legs and that her FAT is even sore...haha.  She's a trip!  That girl is naturally strong as an ox though!  She could really be a good weight-lifter(and a runner) if she kept it up...she was at one time and I believe it, you can still see her muscles.  She's going to start coming over and we'll work-out in my basement, we have a pretty good set-up.  I don't like the gym at the club....too hot and feels dirty to me.  She's like me, wearing a tank-top when it's 30* out.

Not sure what today holds...will do the usual Saturday morning work-out in the basement with DH then my gf wants to go hiking at Seneca...and after that, I'm open for about anything!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Thread :)

Happy Saturday to everyone, we're at 26 and supposed to be in the 30's today, lots of snow though but that's what we get in February and March!   I don't know what I will do for a workout today.  Maybe my sister will want to go skiing and I"ll do Pilates.

Lucy I didn't explain it to good, my handles and the rope attached to the handles needs to be tied so each rope is the same length and it's really hard to get each rope the same length.  I put my hands in the handles and can tell 1 side is shorter than the other so I re-tie.  I think the new machine you don't have to do that and it adjusts underneath with the clips.   I really may bit the bullet and order it, I've saved up and could do it but I want to be sure it's really what I'll stay with.  I'm liking it better right now than my TG.

DH is working until noon and then he has to come home and clean the battery terminals on my car as it won't start once it's shut off, it's a funky thing it isn't the battery it's the way its connected .   Then he is repairing a bird feeder that keeps coming apart.  I have jobs for him at home today, but I won't hold my breath for either LOL

It was hard going on the trail yesterday, the snow was too deep and I really should have worn snowshoes but walking a pulling dog on a leash on snowshoes is a challenge.  I hesitate unleashing him because there is another man who also uses the trail and he has 2 dogs he takes and he doesn't leash his and they don't like each other so I take the high road and keep mine under control.   If I see no tracks before mine I do let him go for a bit but then I worry he'll see a deer and take off but we haven't seen on lately, I think they have moved more South of me to the deer yards as we have too much snow here.   I'm starting to count down the days to "melting".... Once we get to March I can see the light at the end of the tunnel just knowing April follows.

I'm running my Duraflame now, it's chilly in here our fire went out last night but it's getting warmer.

Have a good day everyone!
