Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

The sun is out today, and it's a little warmer. Nice day. I had lunch with a friend. I called to make an appt to have the oil changed in my car on Monday, and they just found out a recall was just issued. So instead of going on my lunch hour, I'll need to leave my car there all day and drive a loaner. That's cool and all, but boy, I hate driving cars I'm not familiar with. Not looking forward to Monday.

I ended up doing Michael Carson's med ball workout last night. That's still a fave, too, and I haven't don't it in a long while. Did OK.

Tony, I was happy to see you post. Glad you're managing all the bad weather you're getting. Hang in there.

Hi, Bopper. I can't wait to hear your report about the new TG DVDs. I hope you love 'em! Let us know.

Patty, your warm-up and workout both sound grueling. It's so cool that you can do that stuff! Way to go. It's a shame that DS is so done in by the meds and disease. Prayers that one day they'll find a treatment that works better and is less debilitating.

TGIF!!!! A few more hours until the end of the work week. It can't come soon enough!!!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi tony! I think the kids are getting that same snowstorm, they're supposed to get 7" today and tonight. Supposed to turn to a nasty mix. DIL's soccer tournament down here was canceled because of it.

DH and I did a partner WOD and I'll leave it at that. You don't need to listen to me say how awful it feels every day. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Actually, not everything was...I am so sore from yesterday that I had to modify some stuff. My wrists sure get sore from handstands...I hope they strengthen up over time.

We also worked on mobility...not as easy as it looks. We did 'Turkish Kettle-bell Get-ups' and it's one of those exercises that looks a lot easier than it is.

nomless...it's the weekend AND sounds like you enjoyed your cardio time!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} I did bike and treadmill this morning too as part of the partner WOD. I didn't feel like rowing again(that was the first part of it, you row while the other person holds a plank...so I ran and biked).

bopper, FUTURE, vonlam, canine, cater,...oh my, I almost typed cosmetics name out of habit.{#emotions_dlg.sad} That made me sad...ugh...miss seeing her pop up. Anyway, waving to everyone.

Going to shower and head down to the house to make sure we don't have any busted pipes...then not sure what the rest of the day holds.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi all,

Pppmint I don't know if I'm coming or going I guess. I thought I missed posting because of my GD being here and then I did post...I'm just floating around I guess LOL

I just finished making blueberry scones with a lemon glaze. I have never made scones before but my mom used to. Of course I was watching a Hallmark movie and the girl was making scones so I looked up a recipe and made some...I must say...yummy!

It was 20 today, warmest its' been all month, tomorrow high of 0 and mostly 0 all next week.

Tony Yes I'll be watching Daytona tomorrow too! Snowbanks upon snowbanks I hear ya!

Nomless I did one workout from the dvd series that was Strength and Cardio Intervals and I liked it a lot. My HR was up the entire time. I have 2 more I will check out also.

I think of cosmetics also, and just a couple days ago I was thinking about her and that someone must know what happened...I pray for her peace!

There is a TG hour on at 8 pm tonight. I think I"ll watch. Hubby and sons are going out for a little while. My son leaves for the season in a week so it's Man time! haha

Have a good evening!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Patty, I know those Turkish getups. I try, but have to modify. Bopper, are the new vids for sale? If so, where? Does Q have them? I had lunch with a friend, made sweet sour chicken and rice, and not much else. Slept a while this afternoon, but am still tired. I' ll probably head to bed early tonight. My girl kitty Coco has drippy eyes that seems to be allergies, as it happens every spring and fall. It annoys her, but she'd be more annoyed if I tried to treat it with drops or pills. I just wiped them and she even hated that.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Happy Sunday everyone! A day off for me...yay! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} And I need it, I'm sore.

nomless...we're having allergies here and it's only going to get worse. We are 50* this morning, any time you have a 40+* jump in temps, it just makes it all(flu and allergies) worse.

bopper...pass me a scone please.Wink DH would love those w/the lemon glaze on them.

Went to the mall after we checked out our house yesterday. Tried on glasses, looked at puppies, hit Barnes&Noble up, tried on clearance shoes, bought some new Buxom lip glosses at Sephora, and had the best green smoothie I've ever had. Oh...and dh got a Rosin bag for his work-outs at Dickssportinggoodsstore(wouldn't let me use the real name) since he sweats so bad. I have to say, it was a fun trip!

Although, it wasn't a "clothes-shopping" day with dh along. I stopped at one store to look at some pants I saw in the window, they were lavender but I liked the style and need some grey ones like that so I wanted to see if they had them in grey. DH said(and he doesn't use his "inside voice"), "You don't need purple, stretchy pants!"....2 women cracked up laughing. And I won't even tell you what he said at Sephora...ay.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Okay, I guess it's shower-time. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hey all, sun is out but we are in the deep freeze again. It's 0 here right now...hasn't really moved much since I got up.

Watching Daytona 500. 75 degrees in Daytona! Ahhhhhhhhh

Nomless no they are not for sale yet. I was asking Rosalie a question about them on FB and she sent me all of them for free! I was so pleased....she said she hopes soon the Q will have them. Hope Cocoa's eyes feel better but I agree best not to do drops, Cocoa will be mad at you!

Pppmint so funny about the mall story with DH. I think they are all alike. Mine acts like he's in a foreign country when he's at the mall.. LOL {#emotions_dlg.lol}

Tony I'm watching. Terrible wreck for Kyle Busch! Gordon is holding his own though!

Not much else here, just chillin............well literally we are! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Patty, what a nice time you had browsing at the mall yesterday. Bopper, how cool that Roslie sent you a set of dvds in advance. Today I downloaded a game for cats on my tablet. A mouse moves around the screen. When touched, it blows up with a chirping bird sound effect. Both cats played a while but then lost interest so I deleted it. I did 50 min cardio on treadmill and bike. I had to put my mind in a happy place to get it done as the gym was busy with nothing of interest on the TVs.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Morning all, sunny here but all schools are closed again. We're still below 0 here right now. Good thing for inside equipment and dvd's. I did 2 miles on the treadmill and then 30 minutes on the TG doing upper body and abs. I feel pretty spent but in a good way.

Nomless that's cute you tried to find a game for the cats to play...Good job at the gym. It's hard to find a happy place sometimes...haha

Pppmint I would imagine you are at class standing in a puddle about now but conquering it non the less.

Not much new since the last post. Watched Daytona 500...not too many bad wrecks which was good...at least with this starting it does remind me of Spring and next week I have Spring training games to watch...it's coming!
