Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Morning! Woke up to wind howling(54 mph) and below zero windchills...not the norm for this area. Well, the wind is, not the temps. We have over 4000 without power this morning. Watching the North East blizzard on the news...ay Tony. So many getting hammered today.

Hi Cater! I smiled too nomless! The kids are also in PA and had the same yesterday and my dil was out coaching soccer...ugh. That's all I'm going to say about that.{#emotions_dlg.glare} They showed their windchill this morning on the weather channel(-30*)...one of the coldest in the country.

bopper...I was sore last night but feel okay today. I think I'm going to enjoy a rest day, it's been too long and my bod needs it. I hope things work out today and ds et al can make it home!

Yesterday I went to town on my house, it needed it. DH and I did a few miles outside, wind is great resistance.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Did some strength and finished my cleaning. We ended up staying home.

Church this morning, my hair will be real purdy by the time we get there. {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hey all, not much to report here. We had my son and his new gf for dinner tonight and she's very nice...

Our blizzard is over and spent much of today cleaning up...we just got a plow today...It was terrible and so windy. The first time in history for us that we had to close down so many highways.

Pppmint glad you took a day off...your body needed it..back at it tomorrow though I would imagine. Hope DH is feeling better..thank you for asking about DS...it was a very nice evening.

Cater Hi and waving to you...

nomless hope your weekend was nice and you could relax with Shadow.

Watching the Westminster Dog show..beautiful animals.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi, Patty and Bopper. It was cold here today, but no snow. I went to breakfast today with a frienf and her husband. We were very close when we worked together, lost contact for many years, and reconnected again last year. It's great fun to be in touch again. I washed my car, but after that, not much. I don't have tomorrow off, wish I did. Have a good night everyone.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

My, oh, my, I'm checking in first. I'm planning on doing cardio tonight...treadmill and bike. It felt good when I did it on Saturday.

It's a cloudy day here, in the 30's and windy, so it feels colder than it is. I'm not complaining, though, because it's going to get colder the next few days. There's supposed to be sun, though, so maybe it will feel OK. But, they've been saying "partly sunny" for days, and we've had no sun.

Many years ago it occurred to me that had I been smart when I was in college, a good career would have been meteorology. Weather is among the few professions which doesn't have to be accountable. If a weather person gets a forecast wrong....well, they just try again the next day. For most workers, mistakes are bad, but weather people can get away with lots of mistakes!

Tony and Bopper, I suppose you both are snowed in. I thinks it's cold and snowy at your place, too, Patty. Stay safe and warm, everyone. Just think, each day spring is one day closer.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Morning! We're still getting freezing rain, our windows are a sheet of ice. Everything is closed here and we made the national news. I know we're not alone, quite a few states have issued a State of Emergency.

Lucy had a blast playing in the snow last night, the neighbors were watching out their windows and laughing. I couldn't get her back in the house and had to physically carry her in. Then she'd whine and scratch our legs to go back out.

DH and I went to gym yesterday and I did the big grocery shop, along with the rest of Hampton Roads...ugh.

Today will be a treadmill day. Fortunately, we haven't lost power even though thousands of others have.

nomless, you're right, but our forecast was basically spot-on for this storm. I've often said the same thing though.

bopper...yay...Leeza won CA!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hey all, we're in the deep freeze here and for some time to come by what they are saying. Almost all of the big lake is frozen over so that shuts off the snow machine too.

Pppmint you had bad ice...that's no joke..please be careful. If they salt it should be melting though. Glad you have power.

Nomless I love the weather. I should have looked into that for a career too. I go to a weather class every summer here but 's pretty basic, like cloud formations and stuff but I enjoy the presentations.

FUTURE hope your week is going alright for you...Am I mistaken or are you getting warm temps?

I did Total Gym this morning for 40 minutes. Still waiting to get my new dvd's. I thought maybe today but nope.

I am so glad Leeza won on CA...that Geraldo is full of himself and then some! Ha!!!!!! She set him straight though when she said she helped him win one of his tasks.

I see Dr Denese took Lisa R to the finale!

Have a good day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi, Bopper and Patty and Tony....it's a snow / ice day for all of you. I hope you're all cozy and warm, where ever you are.

Bopper, do you follow Rosalie on Facebook? Is that how you got the DVDs. Let us know what you think after you've checked them out. I expect that they'll be good ones.

I was happy that Leeza won, too. But I must admit I was surprised. I really thought Trump favored Geraldo, and I expected him to win (even though, given some of Geraldo's behavior, I would have kicked him out weeks ago! But that stuff is good for ratings, right, so craziness isn't grounds for dismissal).

I don't know what I'll do tonight. I'd like to do cardio again, but it's too cold to go back out after I get home. So maybe a kickbox something on DVD. I'll see when I get there.

It flurried a bit this morning, but the sun is out now. It's cold and windy, so not pleasant to be out.

Oh..weird story....did you hear about the woman who died hiking in the blizzard? 100 MPH winds and very cold. It's a shame she died, but it was known that it was going to be blizzardy, so the question is...why did she go hiking????

Are you watching the dog show? So far, I'm cheering for the beagle. Next favorite would be the sheep dog. Both make me giggle....so darn cute!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Morning! Everything is shut down here again even though I really don't think it's that bad...but better safe than sorry. We aren't warm enough to have the melting they were expecting so we didn't have as much ice as expected.

Lucy and I went to work with DH yesterday(they had a pipe burst), she had a blast running around the building...on the carpeted areas, she doesn't like the floor. We saw a fox running across the lake, got a couple of pictures. The marina was pretty too, not normal seeing frozen salt-water down here. I took Lucy out but we had to cut it short, too icy...so did my treadmill and shoveled. I power-walked at a very good clip until 1.65, then I sprinted for 2 minutes, to 2 miles(that was a work-out)...then walked again. Darn near shot myself off the back while sprinting...lol.

I'm so glad she won too bopper! That Geraldo is so full of himself...bleck. nomless...we were expecting Geraldo to win too because you could tell Donald was stacking the deck for him all along.

And, yes nomless, I saw that story. Her husband dropped her off at bottom of mountain. Mmph. Over 100 mph winds...crazy. I'm sure you're happy about the beagle winning! We watched it last night, I liked the terrier.

DH is going to CF with me this morning, it's a tough one. Toes-to-bars, rope-climb, ring-dips, handstand push-ups, dead-lifts...ugh. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

So I got back on my walking kick. I am on day 11. I make myself a fruit smoothie, wait a couple hours & walk. Once I actually get outside I enjoy it. No weight loss on the scale yet, but my jeans are looser. Last time it tooks 3 weeks before the inches began dropping. I want to lose 10 pounds by summer & stay there.
