Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Hope your lunch was fun nomless.  So many people with terrible weather, was watching the flooding in MO last night.  The UK also.  I saw a bike over the holidays that I wish I would have bought but I have one of the smaller ones from the Q....I'm not sure you would like it because it has the small pedal radius, just isn't the same but it's okay for once in a while or to use in addition to your work-out.  But I'm thinking that isn't what you're looking for.  Personally, I wouldn't get a spin bike....too uncomfortable. I gave mine to the kids and they don't particularly care for it.  Hope you find something!

bopper....I really thought they would have heard something by now.  I think I'm going to make soup for New Year's...going to look on Pinterest for a new recipe.

Picked-up the cats from the vet yesterday morning.  With Kat's UTI, came to almost $700...ay.  I just hope she's okay.  Lucy isn't feeling well this morning, probably stress from the trip and everything.

Had to get a new phone yesterday....had to....grrrr.  Spent 2 hours at Verizon, used my upgrade but they should last longer.  Got groceries after that.  We were 80* yesterday!  34^ the day before so we really felt it...ugh.

DH had his cat scan yesterday and saw Infectious Disease Doc.  Took 9 vials of blood to check for diseases he could have caught in the countries he was in this summer.  DS is the same(darrhea and cramps) but he said the cramps and stomach pain wasn't as bad yesterday as it has been so I'm hoping maybe the first infusion is kicking in??  We'll see what today brings.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

I have no idea whiat happened there!  Thought I lost my post but it posted even though I didn't hit "post".

Anyway, it was long enough...lol!  I did get a work-out in yesterday.  Not sure what I'll do today but I need to do legs....did some upper yesterday and walked and jogged.  I was so tired from not sleeping, I closed my eyes while I was jogging and felt like I could fall asleep!  Twilight Zone.

Waving to everyone...hope you're all safe and no one is in the bad weather zones.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Yikes, Patty, DH is having health issues, too?  Yikes.  My heart goes out to you worrying about both DS and DH.  I sure hope DH didn't pick up a weird something during his travels.  Prayers for all.

Thanks for the info about your bike, Bopper. I know you like it. It looks like reviews are kind of mixed.  Don't know if I should take a chance.

It's hard to believe another year is winding down.  The end of the year always makes me sad that I didn't accomplish more, but optimistic about the new year.  But all in all, just getting through another year is an accomplishment, right?  It will be nice to get back into a more predictable routine next week when all the holidays are behind us.

Guess I'm going to write off workouts for this week, but I'll get back into it next week.  I just printed out my log sheets for next year.  It helps me a lot to write down what I do each day.  I hate seeing empty boxes and that keeps me going....usually.  It sure didn't work this month!

Happy day to all.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Hi, I went this morning to get groceries and do a couple other things, roads weren't very good and it's still snowing out.  I was glad to be home.

Took Logan to the trail when I finished putting all the stuff away.

Nomless I always have mixed feelings leaving 1 year and starting another.  I know what you mean.  I hope you find a bike you like.  I truly like the one I have but of course it's up to you.

Patty praying DH doesn't have some weird thing he picked up while traveling and that DS is going to start improving now and maybe the infusion is kicking in.  Praying.  Still no news on the list dog....I am still searching sites and won't quit either.  They are looking at puppies now because my son leaves for work in February and he said his finance needs a puppy for company while he's gone and I know I"d need one.  I don't think I'd ever be without a dog.

Going to cook a pork roast in my cast iron pot on a low heat this afternoon.  I hope it isn't tough.   The grocery store wasn't bad considering it's almost New Years.

Waving to everyone!

Yay that you got to the store and back without mishap, Bopper.  I really dislike driving on snowy / icy roads.  I'm pretty much of a hermit during bad weather in the winter.

I don't have much to report today.  I have to work this afternoon, but a lot of the offices we call will be closed, so maybe we'll be done earlier than usual.  I have no plans for tonight.  New Year's Eve is a good night to stay in and stay warm.  Maybe I'll celebrate by having some popcorn.

Cater,  I'm thinking of you and sending good wishes for a happy 2016.

Tony!  We haven't heard from you much either.  I hope things are going well and wish you a happy new year, too.

Skylark, is DS still doing well after his surgery?  I hope he's not getting impatient with recovery...it takes time.

WMN, are you still there? Do you like your Berkshire sheets?  I love mine.  Very nice so far.

Patty, of course, continued good wishes for DS and DH.  I hope that kitty is OK.  I'm guessing that Lucy continues to party on as she always does.  She seems to treat every day as a party!

Lots of good wishes to all.  Have a fun celebration tonight.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Happy New Years Eve everyone,.   Just came in from walking the neighborhood with 2 of my neighbor ladies...Sounds like we're all staying in tonight.  We have no plans either and I know I won't make it to midnight....

I always have mixed feelings going into another year...not sure why either...feels kind of sad to me but I do have a new grandbaby coming and a wedding so it should be a good one.  As long as we all have our health that's all that's important to me.

Hubby is working today also and most ;places are open arouond here.

Not much else to add here, wishing all of our great friends here a Blessed evening and even more blessings for the New year.

Re: Welcome to the December Exercise Thread

Happy New Year's Eve everyone!  I was up all night with the bugs-crawling-under-my-skin and hives trying to pop out....even though I'm STILL ON STEROIDS....grrrrr!  Oh, and hot-flashes, can't forget those.

I made the soup recipe I found on Pinerest and it's delicious.  Added a few things like turkey sausage for more flavor and protein.

Yep, nomless, dh hasn't felt right since he got all 14 immunizations at one time...followed by the malaria pills.  And we did have fun furniture shopping even though a dining room table and chairs wasn't even on the radar...lol!  While they were ordering the fabric they wanted on the chairs, I went to the restroom and saw the table on the way and fell in love.  They felt bad and said "no, no, no...we can't take it"...blah, blah, blah, but they loved it too.  It's a huge farm table with the big beams underneath that make an X...the wood is beatuiful and so are the chairs.  With both leafs it will comfortably seat 12...could easily squeeze more in.  They'll leave the leafs out becaue it takes up too much space and they don't need all that.  It was delivered today, dil sent me photos...we all love it.

bopper....I'm alone a lot too and my animals make it better.  I don't ever have any family at all around me so my animals sure keep me company.  Still hope he shows up.

I had an ordeal with Lucy this morning....I'm so darn tired I'm not thinking right.  Let her out, went to do something and forgot.  Sitting on couch later and I hear scratching at front door(I let her out back in the fenced-in yard)...she went through the metal slats....who knows if she just got tired of waiting and came up to the front door, or if she was out and about.  For all we know, she went on one of our routes...lol!  I was sick though...ugh...the thought of what today could have held makes me sick.  Sooooo mad at myself.

I was doing burpees, stood up from one and my lower back tweaked.  Figures...there are some things I think you just shouldn't do when you haen't slept.  It was sore from yesterday as it was.

DH is home from work already, he made everyone go home.  Bowl day for him.

Hope everyone is doing okay.  We FINALLY got our orders so we're house-hunting today and going over some COC(Change of Command) ideas...like location and food.  I can't think straight.  DH thinks I'm online looking at that stuff right now...hahaha! Smiley LOL

Waving to all!
