Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Oh...and what about the 41 year old woman on the vault?!!  Loved her spunk and determination.   I hope she does well.

Ride class!  Hot sweaty mess!

I also made my first ever five minute apricot pork stir fry that was completely all natural food yesterday and it was really good.  Ate it for lunch and dinner and it will be dinner again tonight.  Emeril needs to start shaking now...Smiley Wink

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

By the way, we were talking about sheets a while ago and I'm kind of curious about tomorrow's TSV.  I can't tell if it's a smooth sheet or it it has some texture to it.  Anyone familiar with the Serta Microfiber?  If it is textured, I'm all over it.  If it's a regular smooth sheet, I'm passing.

nomless....Gabby is from Va Beach.  I think she's about done.  I'm not sure if DH saw it live or they were doing a replay, but we had just returned home from hiking and he turned it on and made some "Oooooh man, ugh, that's awful...hate seeing this", etc., and told me not to come look...and I didn't.  He said the same thing, thought about it all night...was hard to see and wondered how she was.

Yes!  I love the 41-year old!  What an amazing story...wow.

Laura...I didn't know there was a TSV sheets offer.  I'll be curious myself.

I did 15-minutes of PUMP....was so bored, not getting anything....one of the ladies I really like that I met last week walked in late and it was packed....I told her to take my stuff, she argued and I said,, "No, really, I'd rather go lift on my own and my knee is hurting"....she was very appreciative.  I did legs and had a great lift...my best one in a long time and it felt good!

Then it was too early for COMBAT so I ran on the treadmill and ran better than I have in ages too....so I may go back to old-school on some days...running and lifting.  I was pumped and sweating like crazy!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

I just wanted to let you know that I ended up walking Thursday,Friday,Saturday and Sunday. I wanted to correct my information. I walk approximately 5.6 miles. I checked it and it was 2.8 miles each way. I have been losing weight and walking this distance has really helped. I have lost 30 lbs since April. I still need to lose about another 35 lbs. I don't know why I just let myself get so heavy but I am now determined to get back down to get a good weight for my height. I am 69 years old and so far so good. I watch what I eat and excercise. I am not on any diet. I have done it myself and this even motivates me more. My clothing are just hanging off my body. I hesitate to buy new clothes because I am still going down on the scale but at the same time I can barely keep my pants up. I started buying lunchtime specials. This has helped.

elated Congratulatioins on the weight loss that's fabulous and so much better for your health.  Keep walking, it works!  I love to walk.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Gave Pound another shot since it was a tremendous ab workout and it's maybe growing on me again.  Finished with Power and I'm getting better.  Almost back to normal weight before I got hurt.

I think I may try the TSV today.  If QVC ever shows it on tv!!  I have to go to work soon and I can't believe they haven't shown it in three hours.  Kind of tough to see the video on small devices.

My insurance company decided my car lost a couple hundred dollars in value and sent me a check.  I may be being punked but I'm cashing it after the expense that was July and making my bed baby soft.  Smiley Happy

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@elated, you've done a great job!  Congratulations on finding exercise and eating plans that work for you.  I hope you'll keep on posting here.  I'd love to hear about your progress. If you need cheerleaders, we're always here.

I had a filling done on a tooth yesterday...ugh.  Fortunately, this one was quick and easy, it took only 20 minutes or so.  It made me mad that I got a cavity because I'm diligent about my teeth.  I even floss at least once a day, sometimes more, but still for a cavity between 2 teeth. I've been using a Braun electric brush, but last week Q had a great offer on a Sonicare so I decided to switch.

Bopper, my chair has shipped.  I'll check post a report on a few days.

Laura, yay that you tried Pound again.  I hope you love it as much as you once did. I haven't seen the sheets.  I hope you love them.

Lucy, I found an update about the bike racer. She was unconscious for a while so the concussion probably is significant.  And she has 3 broken lumbar vertebrae.  The good news is she's done some tweeting from the hospital. There could be long lasting effects, I suppose, but being a racer, she probably has the mental strength to deal with them. Glad you're figuring out rooms at your new gym.

Last night I got riled up in the last round in the synchro diving.  The Americans had a good dive.  The next pair was not I'm sync...their rotations were different...bit they had a higher score than the Americans.  Huh?  Maybe the degree of difficulty was different.  Fprtunately, it ended up not making a difference in the standings, and the Americans got the silver. I loved watching Kerri Walsh and her partner win yet another beach volleyball match. it's been fun watching her the past 3 ( I think) Olympics...she's great.

I'll do a workout today and plan to re-organize kitchen cupboards.  I don't have a pantry and have only one cupboard to store foodstuffs.  Currently, I have a lot of boxes of things on the counter because the cupboard is full.  I need to fix that!  One of the downsides of apartment living is the unreasonably small kitchen, IMO.

Okay, I could be losing my forum privileges for this but, while I was waiting for the TSV presentation which didn't come before I left work ( I bought it anyway), they showed the Rodeo exercise machine.  I bust out laughing.  It reminded me of Ellen's chair.  Check it out!

@nomless  Pantry clean out is on my list too.  The only thing in my house I haven't gotten to yet.  I'm not looking forward to it but I almost shattered the olive oil yesterday so time to claim more space.
