Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

I did my Pound and Power this morning.  Apparently everyone is back in routine after the second week of school, so the gym has gotten a bit crowded again.

I have been waiting over a year and the instructor finally put the Cake song back in the routine.  We are only supposed to do 7 songs.  She did 9.  And one was that song which is the only Pound routine I absolutely love.

Then came Power and the men have returned.  I hate it when certain guys are near me because they don't follow the routine and it is distracting.  They try and fly through it and that's just not what this class is.  Do that on the floor outside.

I'm not sure if I have updated the crowd but Nudie is still nude and Adonis actually stepped in front of me after I put my step away.  He's still nothing to look at and prance around about.

My new space is completely done so I am going to wash down my kickboxing bag and start creating a workout corner just for me.  I can't believe it's real.  It still has not sunk in yet that I have a real home.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Good morning, all! It is very cool in Denver this morning.  I am second guessing my wardrobe choice of shorts this morning!  Well, I know it won't snow this afternoon, so I should probably be fine.

My toe still really hurts.  I looked closely at it last night and the nail is definitely lifting from the skin.  I need to lose it pretty soon so that the skin has a chance to heal before I have to start wearing real shoes with socks.  I've been able to wear sandals for the most part.

I don't think I posted this yet, but last week, our Zumba instructor told a few of us that she was giving up the Thursday class.  We were all pretty upset.  When I started Zumba 4 years ago, I don't know that I would have stuck with it had it not been that instructor.  I think she just doesn't want to drive downtown any more--she normally teaches in Boulder and in Broomfield, which are quite a bit north of us.  I told her that I would teach the class just so we could keep it on Thursday at lunch and a couple of the others in class told her that they would like me to take over, but she said "It's not that simple:"  She has to talk to the group exercise teachers.  I hope they don't put something like a Les Mills class in there--I won't go to it and there are a few Zumba instructors I won't take either because I don't like how they teach.

I wouldn't have cared if she put the La Blast format in there, but I really think she just doesn't want to teach there any more.

I spent 10 minutes this morning cleaning up my office and I am finally rid of the stack of junk that was on my credenza.  It does look much better, but I still have a pile of other stuff (gym clothes) that I don't use, so I will have to get rid of that.  I need to do the same to my actual desk. I feel like the world's biggest slob because my desk is one of the worst.  I will say that all the accounting department has more cr** on their desks than I do, so maybe I shouldn't feel too bad.

Today is small group, so that's a tough workout.  I found out the hard way yesterday that my shoulder is so jacked up that I can no longer do push ups.  I absolutely need to make an appointment with the ortho to either get a shot or get the surgery scheduled to clean out my shoulder joint.

Hope you all have a great day!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

I hope you feel better soon @DrKelli.  My mother smashed her foot into an ottoman on Saturday night and couldn't even walk.  It's no fun.

I hate it when you lose your favorite teachers.  That's kind of why I dropped most of my regular classes is I just can't get with the people who replaced them.  And it shouldn't take an Act of Congress to let someone take over a class.  It's not like you are off the streets.  If you need us to picket for you, we're there.  Virtual pickets but we're there for you.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Good morning, I did my TG 14 day challenge workout again and used my Cyclo trainer for the cardio intervals instead of cardio jogging, easier on my body.  Super sweater for sure.

@Laura14 I forgot to mention I also loved your home decor, you have good decorating taste.  I'm sorry you had a hard day yesterday.

@Mmsfoxxie we need rain bad, its 90% humidity right now but its only 63, how the heck does that happen, so it's cool, windy and super muggy.  Can't run my AC because its too cool out and it will only kick in if its over 65, otherwise running it kicks the fan in and that brings in the outside humid air.  I need a better dehumidifier, ours is ancient and hardly works.;   Well are you zumba'd out?  LOL,,,of course it's always about us  hahha..

MickD how is it going?

DrKelli things going okay at work?

Judy its' quite windy here today, we haven't had much wind, I hope the smoke isn't near you.

Nomless thinking of you, and check in if you can.

Lucy haven't forgotten you either, and not even sure if you read, i'm thinking not but if you do pop in and sy hi, we miss you.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Morning Everyone!  Its another cool overcast day by the Bay.

Did do a work out this moring - beginner Pilates DVD.  Didn't do the upper body workout tho cuz my arms are still killing me from Sunday.  Not feeling all that great so decided to stay home from work.  I could have pushed myself to go in but really felt like I needed to rest today, feel kind of run down and tired.

@Laura14 I didn't know that you had bought a home.  So happy for you.  That is great news.  I assume you have found a new job.  Sorry you had such a bad day yesterday but sounds like your mom will be ok.

@DrKelli good for you for cleaning off your desk!

@bopper  I have always wanted a Total Gym but don't have the room.  Glad that you are enjoying yours.  Think that would be the one machine, if I owned one, that I would definitely use.

Hope everyone else is having a good day

@JudyL  I didn't.  We just renovated part of the old one.  And no new job.  Yet.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Happy Taco Tuesday everyone!

@DrKelli your poor toe!  I hope a shot will do it for your shoulder.

@Laura14 your place looks fantastic!

Cloudy and humid this am.  Can't wait for it to cool down so I can get on the trail.

The neighbor on my left has a green space next to her.  Her husband came upon an aggressive rattlesnake, and wanted us to be aware so we don't take our dogs there.  My son and his friends used to play there all the time.....snakes!

Ran 3.5mi/42.3min on the treadmill.

@MickD ACK! Snakes!  That would do me in.  I'd be freaking out.

@Laura14 how nice that you could renovate part of your home.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find a new job soon.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

A snake....I would be petrified to go stepping outside at night!

This is my runaround day but no where to run to, lol.  This new med called FML was prescribed for my ongoing eye infection and was supposed to be ready last night and wasn't.  That was going to be my runaround gig.  In the meantime, I've decided that it might not be what I should use since my research says it's not for eye infections specifically but is for swelling of the eye due to trauma or an eye infection. I'm looking for a new ophthalmologist.  The $44 medication helped and seemed to get rid of the infection but after a couple of days off of it, a slight redness came back and the doc prescribed this new stuff.  I'm feeling like a guinea 🐷, lol.

I'm working out from home by walking in place and doing leg and arm work.  Gonna do at least 15 trips up and down the stairs, too.

Have a great day everyone!

@Mmsfoxxie  It sounds like maybe the infection wasn't completely eradicated.  I hope you find a new doctor and some relief soon.

Speaking of, I am way overdue for my annual physical so I will be making that appointment today.

Hit my 10,000 steps yesterday.  Actually got out of bed when I saw I was  couple hundred away and finished it up.  I don't often hit it during the week with my current job so it was good to do it when I can.

@JudyL  Thank you.  I still have the old one and I had an opportunity to go work for the hospital as soon as I received my certfication.  Financially, it just doesn't make sense right now so I am trying to stay put and tough it out for now.  My rent is obviously up with the new place too so that part of moving on is unfortunately on hold.
