Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@JudyL I think @DrKelli mentioned the inserts.  We were also talking about asics shoes...

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@JudyL, they are powerstep insoles.  They are less than 20 bucks on Amazon right now.  My podiatrist was the one who recommended them!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Good Morning, errand day and grocery day.  I put it all away and and got in a good 20 minutes on TG, need to do some much needed floor cleaning.  Logan brings in so much sand and dirt.  I'm glad I have my TG to get a good effective workout in such a short amount of time.    Getting warm again and so humid....I hated turning on my AC as our electric bill was about 50$ higher last month because of the heat but dang, I'm so hot.

Will walk Logan after lunch.   Where is everyone, I really want to keep this thread active and it seems very quiet here....What can we do to liven things up here, any suggestions?

I realize it's the end of summer and vacations and such so hoping we pick things up soon here.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Just a fly by from me today.  It was so bad yesterday when I had to wear work boots all day.  When I got home and got my boot off, I touched my toe nail and it started bleeding!  The hematoma burst and it actually reduced the pain substantially.  It bleed for about an hour.

Since I was flying out today, I couldn't get to a doctor, but I have a friend who is a nurse and texted her what happened and if she thought I needed to go when I got home.  She responded to keep an eye out for infection, but since the hematoma burst, that is part of the issue why you would need to see a doctor.  She wanted me to send her a picture of it but I told her I still had polish on it and would wait until I got back home to send it.

The toe nail is partially torn away from the skin near the top of the toe so I am sure I will lose the nail eventually.

Hope everyone is doing well!

@DrKelli Oh ow, OW!  Make sure you keep your toe off the shower and floor surfaces of the hotel.  I got a staff infection on my big toe after i gave myself a pedicure.....thank you Holiday Inn

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone!  Hope everyone is faring well.  @DrKelli, yeah, be careful with that toe.  Why is it that the big toe usually gets the problems, it seems?

I had a great time in Vegas with my son and his family.  My granddaughter is so precious.  She wasn't as anti grandma this time.  She walked me all over the house and tried several times to sneakily pull my husband's glasses off his face, lol!  This little girl got so many nice gifts for a one year old.  My other son, her uncle, got her a toddler size couch that opens up to a bed.  Her uncle on the mother's side got her a car that she can (later) sit in and drive by remote control, honks, plays music and lots of other things.  One year old!

My daughter in law and her two sisters-in-law made so much good food!  The birthday cake was the best bakery cake that I've ever had...except for the fondant icing.  But underneath the Fonda's a delicious cream cheese frosting.  There was a thin strawberry filling in between layers.  Most bakery cakes are extremely sweet but not this one.  Actually, everybody pushed the fondant to the side.

Our flight was supposed to leave a O'Hare at 8:45 pm.  It left at 11:45 pm.  Coming back, our flight was supposed to leave Vegas at 12:23 am Tuesday morning!  It left at 1:55 am!  Same plane.  During the wait at O'Hare, at least they fed us as we waited.....really nice sandwiches, wraps, chips, granola bars, juice, water.  I ate but really, why did I do it.  Frustration, I guess because I don't normally eat at that time of night.

I did get a lot of walking in thru the airport, though.  Sunday, for the first time in a long time, I did way under 10,000 steps.  I was too busy eating at the birthday celebration, lol.  Overate Monday as well with delicious leftovers.

Yesterday, I was still in a carbohydrate coma, I guess.  I did absolutely NOTHING but ate sweets that I picked up in Vegas and some pecan brittle that I had had successfully in my freezer for a month.  I carbo demon had been let loose and was out of control, lol.  Thank God I did my WW weigh for August before I left.  I had a feeling this was going to happen.  So I have a month to correct myself.  As most of you know, if you're a Lifetime WW member, you only have to weigh in once a month.  Whew!

Back to reality today even though I feel sluggish.....this morning I have Zumba Tone and maybe some walking on the track.  And take control of my eating.

Have a great day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@MickD know all about those wildfires.  The smoke is coming down here into the Bay Area and it is effecting me.  We're now getting unhealthy air here so I know its got to be bad farther up north.  Take care!

Did the upper body and some lower body Body Gym workout this morning.

Trying to use the stairs more today also rather than the elevator.  This lazy old fanny of mine would prefer the elevator though.....HAHA
