Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  Beautiful day is expected in the upper 70s.  My kind of day.

I only went down two tenths of a pound!  I'm not upset with that since I really enjoyed my evening out the other day but, after today (free Red Robin burger for my birthday) for this week, I'll be completely on task.  August is a heavy celebration month.  My August month only comes once a year so I'm going to enjoy it with caution.  You know what dieters say....down is own, lol.  My total loss is 11.2 or 11.6.

Senior cardio and weight training this morning.  @Iluvlucy, haven't heard from you unless I missed your post.  Have a good day everyone.  Hope Mr. @bopper Keeps improving.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Such good news @bopper. Prayers for continued good recovery!  @Iluvlucy, you are also in my prayer box!

@Mmsfoxxie--I'm one of those 'healthy' people who had a heart attack--about a year ago (september).  I was driving and didn't think I would be able to get my car parked in time.  I did and I am better now, but it is the worst feeling.

I had a weekend that I did ABSOLUTELY nothing and I enjoyed the heck out of it.  I'm doing QuickFit today and my usual the rest of the week, including some extra Zumba and LaBlast training (so I can learn it)!

Have a great day, all!

I felt like an elephant was standing on my chest, I was extremely nauseous and sweating profusely.  Women have very different symptoms than men.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Yowsa, DrKelli, that's scary. And look at you now ... a fitness pro! Good job.

Bopper, I hope things went well for DH today and that he's home and comfy. Both of you need a ling rest.

Lucy, I'm thinking of you and your family, too. I hope things are ok there.

Foxxie, Mick, Judy, Candlequeen, I hope your week started out well.

l think I mentioned a few weeks ago that I got new glasses. I felt I wasn't seeing well, but they said it takes eyes awhile to adjust to new lenses. So I waited. Now (5 or so weeks later), I'm still not seeing very well, so today I had appts with the glasses place and the eye doc. Sure enough, the correction of the lenses is off. Doc said sometimes dilation sometimes results in inaccurate acuity results. So now I'm wearing my old glasses...what a relief, I can see again! The lenses for the new glases will be remade. He said the change will be slight but will definitely make a difference,  but frankly, I'm not confident that the new glasses will be as good as my old ones - and they're not great which is why I decided to get new ones in the first place. I entered into this new glasses adventure with such optimism, now I'm fed up with it and am sorry I wasted the $$. Oh, well. In comparison to others' troubles, this is  nothing.

Wow, @DrKelli, someone like you is the last person I'd think had a heart again.  It almost makes you wonder if you can do anything to prevent one.  Glad you got medical attention.

@nomless, yes, in the big picture, incorrect glasses are a minor thing but it is worth being upset about.  Not only is your vision off but it can cause headaches and dizziness.  Not a good feeling.  The last two pairs of glasses that I got, prior to the cheapest ones I got from Walmart, weren't right.  When I found out that if you have the slight cataracts that I have, it might not be the glasses.  That doesn't make sense to me but that's what my ophthalmologist told me when I told her the situation.  Her tech did the exams and it would get the glasses somewhere cheap.  As I've gotten older, all I need are my readers.  I have my Walmart bifocals around here somewhere but I see best using readers.  My distance vision is fine.

@nomless I hope your eyeglasses get figured out.  How frustrating.  Like @Mmsfoxxie said, it's gotta get right for you as you can experience headaches, etc.    Ya only have two eyeballs!

My doc wanted me to get new reading glasses and glasses...I put that off and just did the contacts for now....I'll update the others later.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hello, well he is home!  Last night got home.   Only 5 days post surgery but doing okay, very very tired, short of breath etc but we got this.  Lots of medications for me to help with.  We got a big pill box so I can put them in, it's very overwhelming.  But 5 days post is making progress.  Every day is 1 day closer to full recovery.

Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers, keep them coming.  This is indeed the toughest thing I have EVER had to do.

Love The Bop!
