Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Happy birthday, @Mmsfoxxie!  I hope you had a fantastic day (it sounds like it was a good one).

Adding my prayers for the Bopper family.

Today is Zumba, which I really need after spending over 4 hours driving yesterday.  I had to go out to a plant and traffic coming home was a nightmare.  It was literally bumper to bumper for almost half the trip and I even left the plant at 1:30 to try to A--avoid the big storm and B--avoid rush hour.

Just got word yesterday that the Zumba class at my health and safety convention is a go.  The conference planner for the national association basically told me that the board had said no and I didn't believe her after talking to one of the board members that I've known for years.  I emailed the board member in charge of the conference planning and told him what happened and that I would really like to do this class because it IS a HEALTH and safety conference and I got an email yesterday from him that he gave the broad at the national office the okay to proceed with it.  Seriously, you do not mess with me and not expect me to go right over your head when I smell something funny.

Hope you all have a good day and that Mr. bopper's surgery goes well and that he has quick recovery!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  This is one of my restless, can't sleep nights.  Thanks for bday wishes @nomless.

@bopper and @lluvlucy, you're still on the prayer list.  Bopper, I hope the surgery went well yesterday.

Boy did we get some rain yesterday evening and then again even more and harder around ten-ish.  I'm so glad we were inside.  Thunder, lightning...the works.  This morning the temperature is 59 degrees whereas we had low 80s yesterday.  I'll need a jacket this morning.  They're saying we might not get to 70.  What a contrast.

To the grocery store I go this morning and then my cardio class.  The good thing about it being cool is that I can go straight to my class with groceries in the trunk and they will stay cool.  I have to buy my half & half for my coffee.

Dinner out this evening.  Oh, boy.  August is always a bad month for me to diet.  Eating out a lot since it's my BD month.  I get emailed dining out coupons because I'm enrolled in free meals for your BD places.  At Culver's, I have a free sundae waiting.  Red Robin, free burger and Cooper's Hawk, where I am a member of their wine club, I have a free entree waiting.  At Houlihan's, I have appetizers or something waiting.  I won't use that one.  Oh, at DQ, I have a sundae or a blizzard waiting.  I won't use that one either.  Cooper's Hawk is high end so I can't pass up that freebie.  Can't pass up Culver's.  And definitely can't pass up Red Robin's Bleu Cheese hamburger.  I'll just have to eat less points before I go and not do everything in one week.  This is a once a year thing and I ain't passing it up, lol.

Have a great day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@Mmsfoxxie--I love RR Bleu Cheese burger.

I have come to the sad realization today that I really need to get serious about eating properly.  My pants are getting so tight I can't stand it.

Today is just boxing with the personal trainer for a 1/2 hour.  I like boxing and when they had actual boxers at the gym, it was a lot of fun.  I got out a lot of aggression (like wanting to punch my EX boss--Satan--in the face) plus I developed a lot of stamina.  This weekend is supposed to be kind of crappy on Sunday and there is a small workout place near me that is doing a Dance Fitness class.  I thought I might check it out and see if I can sell LaBlast to them to add to their rotation--they already have a Zumba class once a month and I could let them know I would be available to sub that too.

I hope the Boppers are doing well and that the Mister came through surgery with flying colors!

Have a great day all!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hey everybody, just a quick check in, yesterday was the hardest day of my life.  5 hour surgery, 4 bypasses and the dr. told me " your husband was hanging by a thread, his next trip would be the funeral home"  Seriously I kid you not, that is what he said.  He is still diseased, but he is 90% better than when he came in.   Dr. is very pleased with his progress today, not even 2 hours out and he's sitting in a chair and took a short walk, not saying he's comfortable or that was easy because it wasn't but it's progress.   I am beyond tired, it's like I can't sleep to save my soul, but at least my body is resting in bed.

So that's the progress thus far, thank you all for you continued prayers, long road ahead but day by day.

Be Blessed everyone!
