@bopper  I am so sorry about your cat.  Prayers to you both.  I'm still not over that experience with my dog.  It hurts.   Heart

If I can get out of work on time which is a challenge on Friday, I may try and make Pound.  For some reason, they start it at 5:30pm.  I work around the corner and to try and get there and get changed and be on time is not easy.  They used to have a Friday class at 6pm which is about right for us working folks.  They should go back to that and give us the 30 minutes.  Turkeys!

@bopper so sorry to hear about your sister's kitty.  Losing a fur baby is so hard.  My thoughts and prayers to everyone.

I've been reading but haven't been doing anything as right now my back/hip feel good and this close to my trip, I'm too afraid to start up again for fear it will aggravate them and I don't want that to happen this close to leaving.  Will try and get a walk in this weekend.

Sounds like everyone is doing really well with their workouts.

@nomless sounds like your chair is just perfect for you.  Always nice when things work out that way.

Hope everyone else has a nice weekend and take care in all that heat.  Luckily, the Bay Area is not going to be hot this weekend.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Awwwww, Bopper, hugs for you and sis.  I'm sorry about kitty. I hope you and sis can get comfort knowing you and vet did all you could and sometimes the kindest thing to do is let them go.  19 is a long life for a kitty.  She was well loved and cared for.

Laura, I hope you get to Pound.

Lucy, have fun with the kids.

Judy, glad typu're feeling lots better ahead of your trip.

Mick, even though you're not doing long distances, you're still doing it and that's awesome.

I did cardio today and added the elliptical to bike and treadmill.  Will try to get that back into my routine.  Did some more work on the chair, too.  Lateral raises are really hard even with the lightest cord.  That's good.  Flys are pretty hard, too.

Threw over Pound for tackling my lawn. After two hours and sweat literally dripping, I'm done and exhausted. I hate lawn care! But now I have the weekend all to myself. Yay!

Good morning everyone.  Hottttt today!  We have an "Excessive Heat Warning" until 11 tonight...could see heat index close to 115*.

Laura...the sheets are washed but not on the bed since I just did mine Thursday...will wait for the matching coverlet to arrive.  I think I like them...haha.  They are soft, I like the grey color, love the fitted sheet...the only thing I am a little worried about is the bottom of the fittted sheet almost felt a little like plastic or something....hard to explain...kind of shiny...which in my mind translates to "hot".  I know they said they are good for hot flashes and will help keep you cool, so I'm hoping that's the case.

bopper....sorry about kitty.  Those days stink...and days after for your sister.

nomless...hope you like your chair as much as I like my pilates.  That's one thing about the gym that I miss, don't have much opportunity to use it but will this morning.

Judy...did you say where you were going on your trip?  I missed if if you did.

MickD...is the water heater fixed?  I missed that too if you already mentioned it.

elated...how is it going?

Wish cater and a few others would pop back in.

My legs were so tired last night(how tired were they?!)...I think they went to sleep before the rest of me...haha!  I lifted pretty heavy compared to what I've been doing and they were fatigued.

Not sure what we're going to do this morning, might go for a quick bike ride. I'll use my pilates for upper with some pull-ups and stuff.  My ol' bod is spent, not gonna lie.  I think I'm getting back into the swing of things though, next week should be better.

Kids went to a Mystery Dinner last night with friends...12 people get locked in a room and have to unravel the clues to get yourself out.  Sounds fun, I'd love to do that.  I imagine they'll get her around 1.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Lucy, I bet the locked room event the kids did was fun.  I'd like to give it a try, lol.

Workout done.  I did really good today, much better than the past few weeks.  Yesterday was good, too. I don't know why.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@MickD  Yay!!!!!!   Bout time!

@Iluvlucy  My sheets won't be here until Tuesday.  I'm glad you like the grey.  That's what I got too.  I can't wait to get them.  I've been Christmas and birthday shopping up a storm so my poor UPS guy is in overdrive lately.

@nomless and @bopper  You guys are so good daily with your workouts.  Still trying to keep up.

@JudyL  I am so excited for you and I'm not going.  Glad to hear you are healed and just in time.

I spent today making a steaming p**p cake for my niece's birthday tomorrow.  Yes, you can see the what's cooking thread in Kitchen forum if you want to see a pic.  I don't get this generation, at all.  Whatever happened to the bunny and carousel cakes?  They were my favorite.
