Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Hi PilatesLover - the pressure cooker I have is the one that was a TSV a couple weeks ago.  Cooks Essentials, digital, electric.  Its really pretty easy to use its the recipes that seems to be funky.  They come out waaaay to liquidy and I'm using the cookbook that was intended for this particular pressure cooker.  It's a small one - 4 qt - which is why I bought it cuz its perfect for just me.   Thanks for the links, I will look at them this evening.

Didn't workout this morning so will do so when I get home tonight.  Feeling really tired and not sleepy tired but physically tired.  So it's been hard to get up in the morning.

Do any of you take vitamins?  Do you find they help with your energy level when working out?  Wondering if thats why I'm feeling tired and a bit run down is that I need to take a vitamin since I'm more active.  I'm not real good about eating veggies/salads but trying to get better so my eating habits aren't the greatest.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Pilates I really hope Body Electric gets put back on air with current workouts.  I have her old ones on VCR tapes, that's how old they are when the girls were all in the lit up circle, le warmers and leotards!  haha

Laura great job wilith all the Florida walking, sound like lots of fun.  I don't think I have worn a bathing suit in eons,,,so self conscoius and so white!!  I wish I could get over that.

Nomless what's shakin bacon!   Hope you are feelin better!  You rest up, we're here when you feel like popping back in.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

@bopper  My mother just built a house in Florida with a small pool.  Ain't no one seeing me in it but my family.  Smiley Wink  Although I do look adorable if I do say so myself.  Smiley Very Happy  My mother said it's very Lucy.  It is very 1950s with black and white polka dots.  I was born too late!  I love vintage!

@JudyL  I take vitamins.  Because I'm little, I take half vitamins.  I've found two brands that you are supposed to take two pills a day.  I take one especially since they have found you can get too much and it can be really dangerous.  And I do eat a lot of vegetables and salads and fruits so I err on the safe side.  Honestly, I would say cleaning up my diet made me feel a lot better the most rather than just taking a vitamin.  And by that I mean just eating real food, nothing boxed or processed.  It sounds like you aren't afraid of the stove or oven so just eating food in its natural form, in my opinion, will get you where you want to be.  Yesterday I had beans and rice to detox from my FL trip.  Tonight I'll make bean tacos and yes I love sour cream and cheese.  But it's all the real thing.  Full fat and normal cheese.  No processed or low fat anything.  Highly recommend eating anything as long as it actually is what it says it is and no one messed with it too much.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Thanks Laura!  I am trying to eat less processed and more real food.  I don't mind cooking but for one person sometimes I do get lazy.  Changing my diet I know is going to help the most but, egads, do I dislike veggies and salads so eating those is quite close to being torture to me.  LOL  I am trying tho to get better about it!  Years ago I took a vitamin from GNC that I liked and it seemed to like me - i.e., didn't upset my stomach - so maybe I'll look into those again.  Thanks for your input!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Hi, everyone. Count me in for sittin' on the porch!   LOL

Finally, this afternoon I'm starting to feel OK again.  Whew.  I even did a bit of cardio, felt it was time to get moving again.  I don't have any other news, and I can't help with the pressure cooker or vitamin questions. I don't have much to contribute today.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Nomless - glad to hear you felt able to do a bit of cardio today.  Hoping you'll even feel stronger tomorrow.

Tonight when I got home I did a 30 minute buns PiYo workout and 2 sets of 15 bicep curls on the BodyGym.  Started to do a few ab exercises but my back said "nope that's enough for tonight" so did some stretches instead.

I went to GNC at lunch and got some vitamins.  I had taken these years ago and did ok on them so trying them again.

Now it's time to relax and watch some tv.  Hope everyone is doing well!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Did not get to walk on my lunch break yesterday - hectic day at work.  Enjoyed a nice yoga practice at home.  After all the arthritis issues I went through in the last couple of months, it was very gratifying to discovery I can still zip right up into shoulder stand and plow pose. Woman Very Happy

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Morning, it's drizzling here so I did Jillian's 30 day shred, only level 1 and that was hard!  Then some yoga stretches....

Pilates lover your really good at yoga, I'm so tight and everything hurts but I try!

nomless glad you are feeling better each day and got in some movement, I'll meet you on the porch!

Judy I take a few supplements but not a multi.  I am trying also to get it from foods..my friend made a comment that she didn't take any medications that her "farmacy" is what she takes, all through her food.  I know it isn't like that for many of us but she's so diligent on her diet.. I admire that.  I strugggle with the vitamins too.

Laura I'm with you.  I love vintage.  We have a store here with nothing but vintage and the owner dresses like Lucy!!!  Where did you get your suit if you don't mind me asking?  I bet you are adorable!!!

Waving to all, Be Blessed and Be  Blessing!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Blew off my Ride class to do Bodygym instead. My back bothered me with all that walking and sitting in a car the past few days so I'm giving it a final rest and then I'm walking in the woods again on the weekend and going for the regular Ride class on Monday to start up again.  I miss it!

@nomless  So glad you are felling better!  Heart

@PilatesLover  I'm loving my yoga book.  I didn't realize how much I missed it.  Unfortunately, my gym doesn't have a yoga class so I am on my own.  Smiley Sad

@JudyL  Glad you found something you liked and can tolerate at the store.

@bopper  Target!  They have another suit that I loved that is a simple dress suit but I was choking on $50 for it.  I'm waiting for a sale.  If I had a pool or lived by the beach, I wouldn't mind but only wearing something a time or two a year, I was having a hard time with that much money so I found my $35 Lucy suit there instead and also found clearance black crocs in a ballerina flat style to match.  And you guys can make fun but Disney had a Minnie Mouse polka dot beach towel so I will be the girl in style on the lanai all dressed in dots!  Smiley TongueSmiley Very Happy

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Thread

Laura - Cute bathing suit!  Love it!

Got up this morning and did a 30 minute PiYo workout.  Was supposed to be a 45 minute workout but I couldn't do some of the routines so think I got at least 30 minutes out of it.

Weekend is almost here!  Agree with Bopper - Have a Blessed Day and be a Blessing too!
