They could get lucky with the weather but odds are that it will be cold, and maybe really nasty. As a fan I would not want to sit out for hours in bad weather, and what about the half time show if it rains or is snowing really hard - will the performers be dressed in down jackets?? What are you thinking, Roger Goddell?? Richard Sherman made an a** of himself on tv for all to see. I heard he was a trash talker, but I didn't know he acted like a sore winner, too!! If the guys want to trash talk each other, that's one thing, but putting it out over the air waves to humiliate another player is just wrong. I wish the players would have more class and respect for the game and each other and stop all the showing off antics. I am old school as far as behavior is concerned. I hope someone cleans his clock for him.
The Super Bowl is being played in Jersey. Practice, media day, hotels for the players.........all in Jersey.
There are some events taking place in NY, but the majority of the events/things happening are in Jersey.

He could be a homerun (and had better be for the Browns' sake) but he's a somewhat risky pick for them. He's a blue collar type guy who's likely to be a fan favorite if he can eke out a few wins. Getting those wins will be a challenge though. The Bengals are pretty good, the Steelers are pretty good and the Ravens are pretty good. Getting wins against those teams will be a challenge. The Browns aren't really great at anything. He's got his work cut out for him.
GARDEMAN, it was a curious hire....where is Sheltiemom so she could tell us a little about this coach since he came from the Bills....they shouldve kept Chud. The Browns franchise make my Redskins seem well.....almost...normal....

I hate it that we have to wait until May for the draft....I know there will b plenty of combine action o th NFL Network....but not exactly my cup of tea....sometimes times dont translate....Mike Golic made a point...it may prove their athleticism but not necessarily translate into football skills....otherwise every track star would be signed by an NFL team and that hasnt always worked out...

SPURT. I'd prefer the draft earlier but there's lots of other NFL related stuff to go on between now and then. In early February teams can start waiving players no longer in their plans. You're apt to see some interesting names pop up then. In March free agency kicks in, and in April the offseason conditioning and team meetings can start. The Eagles have a countdown clock going to the start of the offseason program, but some Eagle players have already started getting ready for next year. The NFL season never truly ends any more.
I'm not a big fan of the guys who put on a good show in the combine. The Eagles have drafted a few of those workout wonders with a mediocre playing history only to discover they're mediocre players. If they haven't shown they can play in college games, then they probably can't play and they just look good in workouts. There are trainers now who specialize in prepping players for the combine. The combine is handy to see how tall/heavy guys really are, but other than that they're pretty useless.

GARDENMAN, as for those combine workout warriors....as Paul Zimmerman used to say if you drat one of those all you got is a guy that looks good in his underwear....
Here's some interesting gossip from the NFC Least---
The Cowboys are considering hiring former Lions OC Scott Linehan as the team's offensive play caller with the title, " PASSING GAME COORDINATOR".....At the Senior Bowl Garrett commented that Kiffin's and Callahan's roles could change next season....
Garrett had wanted to model the play calling process and make it much like Drew Brees and Sean Payton have in New Orleans ....(of course "coach" Jerry nixed that idea)
And some interesting gossip from last season--
According to a source, Garrett attempted to hire Norv Turner as his offensive coordinator and playcaller a year ago when Jones expressed dissatisfaction with Garrett's performance in the role. But Jones decided against the move late in the process, apparently believing Turner's offensive philosophy was too similar to that of Garrett. Jones preferred to empower Callahan at the expense of his head coach.
The REDSKINS will be approximately $30 million under the cap and plan to be active in free agency.....the main targets are secondary and upgrading the offensive line.....And re-signing OLB Rak and ILB Perry Riley and replacing the retired Fletcher.

I expect to see some pretty interesting names released this February. A lot of big name guys have bonuses that kick in come March that will make them a bit too pricey. If they won't renegotiate their contracts then their teams may be left with no choice but to cut them loose. Larry Fitzgerald is a guy whose contract goes from around ten million to around eighteen million if it's not altered and while he's good, he's not worth eighteen million. The Cowboys have a bunch of guys with similar issues and they're already way over the cap. There could be some pretty impressive names crossing the waiver wire come February.
Some in Philly are talking about the Eagles getting Orakpo, but I don't see it. His injury history scares me a bit about paying him big bucks. The Eagles free agency approach is to try and find youngish guys who may be underused or in the wrong system and pick them up cheap. When it works you end up with a big win and when it doesn't work you're not burdened with an underperforming high priced guy.

GARDENMAN---this is where a team's GM, scouting and personnel departments come into play to determine whether they are good or not....Does a player have good football skills and talent or is it because he just fits into "a system" and when taken away the player turns into a bust....or perhaps he should be playing a 3-4 defense and would shine in
a 4-3...scheme...
Rak came back from a pec injury (his second) but he played okay he said it took awhile to trust his arm, but came on strong in the second half of the season and finished with 10 sacks...he had virtually no help with our pathetic defense....even his talented buddy, Kerrigan played hurt all year and had to have surgery when the season ended.....but when healthy and teamed up we have 2 good pass rushers...I would hate to lose Rak....I think him and Kerrigan and Riley are players they need to keep and build around........I hope the Eagles don't sign him....
What scares me is that the Redskins could over pay for free agent busts like they have in the past....it will be interesting to see how Allen no longer shackled by Shanny handles the personnel moves....
Jerry has certainly backed his team into a corner....and although not played up as much as the press does with my Redskins...their front office and coaching relationship makes their team dysfunctional....unless something drastic happens I predict mediocrity for them....
