The Cowboys are INSANE!!!!! WHO would'a thought???! They are going to nail this down...even if it DOES go south in 3 minutes, what a fight! Regardless of the final score, they won in my book.

What about those Cowboys?!! Seattle can be taken down! I have to say that I'm impressed with this Cowboy team. Our area was showing the Bears-Falcons game, but they switched to the final minute of Dallas-Seattle. Indy plays Dallas next month, and if things continue like this, that will be a good game.
Crazy stuff going on today in the NFL: San Diego barely beat Oakland; Carolina-Cincinnati ends in a tie. Green Bay scores a winning touchdown at the last second. Anything can happen this season, and probably will.
Tonight's game should be another good one between NYG and Philadelphia.

Wow, Cowboys were amazing, gotta hand it to Seahawks special Team but other than that awful 3rd quarter, Cowboys were on.

And that was a good game by the Eagles. It's a shame to see Victor Cruz go down like that. When a guy falls and grabs his knee with no twisting leading to the fall, it's usually a torn patella tendon and sure enough that was the case. He's gone for the year. We've seen quite a few of them in Philly. Nate Allen had one in 2010. Correll Buckhalter had two in his early years here.
The Giants came in and after warming up stood on the Eagles' symbol in the middle of the field and stomped on it and tried to rub it out with their feet. Apparently the Eagles weren't overly happy about that and took it out on Eli Manning and the rest of the Giants.
Darren Sproles knee injury could be an issue, but we've got a kid on the practice squad (Matthew Tucker) we can activate if he's out for long. He won't be Sproles, no one is, but he can give us an extra body at running back.

Well, it was a nice day for football anyway, lol! The Bills/Pats game looked pretty much as it has looked for the last decade or so (except for a couple notable exceptions.) Tom Terrific and his cast of "who is that guy" once again schooled the Bills on what a championship team looks like.
But the common feeling I seem to be feeling from people in WNY is, "Don't care, not going to let anything spoil my day, the Bills are ours and here to stay." and I guess that is what matters, at least for now!
Congrats to all the winners!

Some more details on the Eagles win now that I've had some sleep. The Eagles defensive coaches were confident that they could disrupt the Giants short passing game by bringing the DB's up close to the line of scrimmage and jamming the Giant receivers. The Giants had resorted to the short passing game due to their offensive line deficiencies. The Eagles took away the short routes and Eli had to hold the ball and the Eagles defenders crushed the pocket. It was a good plan and the Giants never made the necessary adjustments.
An unheralded hero last night was Nate Allen, the Eagles safety who you wouldn't even know played the game by the stats, but he played deep center field (20-30 yards off the ball) just in case one of the receivers broke free from the tight press coverage. That's a scary role for a defensive player. There's a lot of empty field out there that you're responsible for, but he did a good job and guys up front did an even better one. It was as nearly a perfect game as you can throw against a hated rival.
The Giants offensive players had gotten into such a rhythm with the short passing game that the receivers and offensive line largely stopped playing when they expected the play to be over, even if Eli was still holding the ball and the Eagles were crashing in upon him.
Next week's Giants/Cowboys game promises to be entertaining. The Giants will have to shore up their offensive scheme quickly to avoid another blowout loss. The Cowboys may come in a bit over confident after defeating the Seahawks. It could be a pretty entertaining game. I'd expect the Giants to include a few max protect offensive formations with just Odell Beckham and another receiver heading deep to try and get a cheap touchdown. They now know they have to protect Eli better and if the Cowboys try to do what the Eagles did, the Giants will have to adapt. A single deep safety with two fast receivers coming down the sidelines is in deep trouble if the quarterback has time. The safety has to pick a side and that leaves the other side man-to-man. Expect to see the Giants try that a few times next week to shake the Cowboys out of press coverage. When you press the receivers at the line of scrimmage, the faster player will ultimately get deepest and that's likely to be Odell Beckham.
