I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to mention something we were told at a medicare seminar we attended.
Supplements/Medigap plans do not fall into the open enrollment period. Open enrollment only applies to Part C and D plans.
The only time you are guaranteed a supplement - no questions asked is when you first apply for Part B coverage.
If you decide to switch from a Part C plan to a supplement at any other time, you are subject to health questions being asked about preexisting conditions and can either be charged a higher premium or coverage can be denied.
