Re: WELCOME TO THE MAY EXERCISE AND MORE THREAD

@Laura14

I admire your spirit and your planning skills!  I always had great planning skills but now - not so much!

Walmart is a great place to find bargains!  I picked up a few things on their super clearance racks the other day.  Nothing wrong with picking men's items which work for you -- why not?  I bought a button down shirt - cotton- which was beautiful - I couldn't resist it.

I belonged to a 30/30 exercise place and haven't been able to go since I hurt my back months ago. I really miss it.  I am hoping I can go back soon -- at least try it -- but who knows?  I have not seem to have made a great deal of progress with PT.

I have to say, I haven't found a lot of advantages to being a senior - just being honest!  You can find a few discounts at places but you often have to about beg for them!  And some places offer mere pennies!

I have used the denture tablets in china cups - they work wonderfully to remove tea and coffee stains!!!

I love your positive posts and everybody else here also!

Re: WELCOME TO THE MAY EXERCISE AND MORE THREAD

[ Edited ]

Thank you @AngelPuppy1 ! You gave me my first smile of the day. I think I probably overshare way too much, but if it helps or cracks someone up about all of our crazy lives, why not?

I am not loving getting older either. I have a mom in her seventies and watching her struggle with certain things these past few years has been tough. I think it's worn on me as the eldest daughter more than anyone. But, she is teaching me a lot how to deal with certain issues. Never thought you'd bond with a parent over heating pads and back issues.

It's frustrating because I have exercised formally and she hasn't so I kind of feel like I should be better longer, but I think sitting at work for years really did me in. I don't do that anymore and one of the managers actually asked me last week if i ever sit down. I took that as a big compliment.

Anyway, I am bringing my new gym clothes, hopefully finding a calm day at work today, and then walking after I get off in the park. I miss it. I am going to try and do that every day this week, unless I feel like I can't.

I joined the centergy exercise challenge for the week, not sure I'll do it, but I might. I need something more. I am getting anxious again.

@AngelPuppy1 I hope you get back to the gym and/or something you love soon. It's frustrating, I know.

I did PT once for a broken wrist and I also found I didn't get much out of it. They are super nice, but I found I could just do the exercises myself at home. Follow their advice, but ChatGPT did a whole rehab program for me too. You might want to see what it tells you, clear with your doctor, and then try it.

You give it all the details and it really makes up a schedule based on where you are physically and what you want to do. Nutrition included, if you want.

Not magic, but I find the computer sometimes has more common sense or has a more rounded picture of what you have and can do than the doctors take the time to get out of us.

I go back and update it with what worked and didn't and it tweaks the program is gives me. It's worth a try if you've never done it. Again, make sure you're comfortable and the doctor is, although it will tell you that too.

Have a happy Monday, everyone!

BTW, I dreamed my father, who I have not seen in thirty years, wanted to reconcile and I discovered his new home was a hidden illegal casino. 😂🎰 He's a retired educator. I have no idea where that came from.

Maybe the Ocean's 11 trailer from the theater yesterday for the day they are putting that movie back in theaters. I should look him up just to see what he's up too, apparently he can't claim to be legitimate anymore. 😂

Okay, I'm done! Have a great week!

This is my last day before another chemo treatment and as you know I probably won't be on here until the side effects wane and/ or get better.  I am glad I can say I am half way thru after tomorrow..  I am still unsteady on my feet which I imagine will keep me from driving and feeling like myself till treament is OVER!   I honetly think I could mnage al this if I wasn't so wobbly...

Have read all you entries and will try and keep up reading them.

  Have a good week everyone.
