Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Hi Everyone - this morning I did yoga with Adrienne.  Today's practice was 40 minutes and I did pretty good.

But the big news of the day - was sitting at my dining room table working and heard a loud pop/bang from the kitchen.  Went in to see what fell over and the glass in the sliding glass door had completely shattered!  Not sure what happened but it scared the you know what out of me.  Looked on the patio but didn't see a dead or dazed bird or a rock or anything.  It just shattered.  So have been on the computer getting estimates.  So far only one company has given me one and it seems reasonable enough so if I don't hear from the others, I probably go with them.  Freaked me out - it kept making that shattering/crackling sound for what felt like forever.

@Lali1 - I've never heard of that exercise program you asked about.  Hopefully someone has and can answer your question.

Thank you. It's a do it yourself thing. They give you ideas of exercise and amounts. Also ideas about menus and recipes. It's not a big company jut some women came up with the idea and put it out there. A lot of people chat and post pics and get buddies on Instagram. I'm off Instagram so I won't do that part.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

@JudyL  OMG!  I would have died! I hope you can get someone out soon.  I have heard of that happening but usually a bird like you said.  Glad everyone is okay.

I did the ocean flow today and she was rolling through it pretty fast.  Got it done though.

@Lali1 I have not heard of that either.  This thread is as social as I get with my exercise.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

@Laura14 well the window guy knew right away when he saw it - yep, something hit my sliding glass door.  When you look at it, you can see the point of impact.  He said must have been a big bird to do that!  He thought a hard object but we couldn't find anything on my porch or the stairs.  Its kind of hard to explain but my porch is hidden from the street and you have to go up 2 flights of stairs to get to it, so more than likely it was not a thrown object.  Also he said the noise was definitely the noise of something hitting the glass.  If it just shattered on its own or because of temp changes - which it hasn't been that drastic here - then it would be quieter and slower shatter.  So he'll put the order in, takes 3 business days, so probably Monday before he gets it put in.  There goes  a chunk of change...

@JudyL Wow, no kidding!  Maybe the dodo birds have resurrected.  I can't believe the bird just shook it off.  Must be doing Adriene's power strength yoga or working out at muscle beach.  I am so sorry you got a bill you really didn't need.  Can't even sue the guy for flying while drunk or whatever he was.

[ Edited ]

Good morning, group!  Hope all of you are well.

@JudyL, Ive heard of glass shower doors instantaneously shattering like that but not patio doors.  The question is what could have hit it?  A big bird at just the right spot?  Birds have hit my kitchen window but they were small.  It's quite comical to see.

No workouts to report but I'm slowly getting back to it.  I have everything at my disposal here at home if I choose to use it.

Have a great day.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning!  We started out cool this morning--I'm sitting here working in a fleece because I'm not going to turn the heat on again.  It is supposed to warm up today though.

Ensemble practice was a disaster last night.  I couldn't get any of the steps right--after I had done everything right on Saturday--so frustrating.  Of course, the fact that I spent almost 2 hours in the dentist chair getting my tooth ground down in preparation for the crown might have had something to do with it.  I was OVER. IT. by the time 8 pm rolled around.

Have LaBlast at 10:30 and dance lesson at 3:30, so that should keep me entertained.  I've been doing the 14 days to sleeveless on OM Daily.  Since the gym closed, I don't feel like I've been getting good weight workouts

@JudyL -- how frightening about your door!  Do you own your house? For some reason, I thought you were in an apartment, so I would expect the landlord to deal with something like that.  A few years ago, I was sitting in my living room with the flooring guy, ordering my new flooring and I heard a bang, then a bunch of crackling.  I couldn't figure  out what it was and got up to look out the screen door--well, the  crackling was the glass and it had just  shattered (but was still in the door frame).  I closed the front door because I didn't  want my dogs to mess with  it.  When I opened the  door--all that glass fell out.  What a mess.  My friend's brother came and installed a new door a couple weeks later.

Hope you all have a good day!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Hi Everyone!  Its supposed to be warm here again today.

@Laura14 I agree it must have been a big bird and if it hit the glass door that hard, you would have thought I would have found a dead bird on my porch or at least nearby!  I've had birds hit my kitchen window and it never sounded that loud.  I still think there is a good possibility it was something thrown at the sliding glass door.

@DrKelli I live in a condo/townhouse which I own so the "landlord" that is responsible for fixing the glass door is me!  LOL  There are times when I wish I was renting, then things like this would be someone's else's headache.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

I am still trying to not scream.  Anyone who does today's core strength ritual, you are my hero.  Do not be fooled by the 20 minutes. OWWWWWWW is all you need to know. I might go sit and cry now.

@DrKelli You are going shine the day of the dance.  You've practiced your little tootsies off and I wish we could be there to cheer you on.

@JudyL I wonder if because you got the hottest color in the lock n lock set if someone didn't look you up.  🤣

Speaking of, I wasn't supposed to get mine til next week.  My purple is here!  I am so excited!  Thanks for encouraging me to try it.  Looks like it will work great for me but we will see. My pitchers shipped today.  Wonder if they will come just as fast.  I am so excited!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Hey ya'all, we got tons of rain last night and high winds from the tropical depression which we NEVER get, I tell ya things are so wonky.  Now my phone just said no service and I'm at home.  It keeps shutting off, does that mean the battery is going?  Anyone??

I did Yoga Burn the live this morning and then did the Final phase of Original Yoga Burn 45 minutes, managed a side plank with feet stacked, lifting top leg and then bringing that top leg into your chest and touching your ankle with the free arm, this program is life changing for me, so strong!

I have not heard of that program either and I have heard of lots of programs as I try and keep up but that one I haven't heard of.

I have a bluebird nesting box and finally the bluebirds are building a nest inside.  I only worry about the red squirrels eating their eggs as they chewed the hole into the house last year and they can get in there.

@JudyL  that is scary!  My goodness what caused that I wonder and now with shattered glass how are you covering it up while the new glass gets installed?

Getting threatening here again, stay safe everyone!
