@Dazlin That's such a nice thought. If he has a favorite food, you guys are such good cooks, maybe he likes something you could gift in a container before or after dinner. At this point, anyone I have forgotten is getting a gift card. Print and stick it in an envelope with a nice note and you're good! 

I am so glad you are all such football fans. I have never bought a football Jersey. I have the team shirts, but, other than Reggie White who had to leave the Eagles and go to Green Bay for his ring, I never had a player I would wear proudly. And at this point, Reggie would make my cry. He was my grandfather and I's favorite.

Well, today I bought my first one. I said at the beginning of our season, bring back BG. They did and he has saved our season no matter what happens. The man was sorely missed and he is the craziest, classiest, cleanest, sarcastic mouth in Philly since I left the area. And he's a defensive player just like Reggie. I found my guy.

It should be here next week. My QVC orders are probably also getting here next week. They are definitely not getting here by Christmas.

I have no idea why the Q "guaranteed" them Saturday am (not that I care), but my Bose items haven't even shipped. Unless they are being overnighted, not happening, peeps. I feel bad for the people who do need them for gifts. 

Today is my mother's birthday. We celebrated last night. My baby sister decided to pick a moment with me and I am over her and the entire family's disrespect this entire year. I am driving myself to Christmas on Wednesday night so I can leave when the other half shows up, if I need to.

Ever since I moved here 25 years ago, I have never enjoyed my holidays. Seriously considering giving my sister her birthday gift on Christmas instead of New Years and telling her see ya next year. ChatGPT talked me off the ledge this morning, but no promises. 🤣

Oh yeah, fitness thread! I did my Core class tonight. My shoulders are still toast from Friday and I didn't sleep well last night. Off for a hot bath and maybe a cup of tea. Got to catch up on my soap too. 

I hope everyone is having a less stressful week. I want you all to know that having a virtual space and wonderful friends to check in with every day this year has been everything to me. You've been a safer space than my own home and I love you all for it. Thank you @bopper for continuing this thread every month.❤️

Hi again,  ok its Tuesday already....im falling behind here.

Today didn't go as I planned.  But I got out to 3 stores and found a nice black shirt for my daughters guy friend...I feel better.

@Laura14 ...thx for the suggestions...everyone takes food home either way...I cook enough for an army...and daughters bring antipasto and desserts..  SIL bringing spiral ham too.   I really dont want much here anyway....whatever hubby wants...he can eat all he wants.

Picked up a gas card for my son inlaws, son too...instead of money.

Looks like I'll make the sauce tomorrow and keep going from there...I hope I hold up 😬.🙏

Ill start on setting the dining room table later today...china will go out Christmas morning. 

I got stuck on the phone this morning scheduling appts for mamo, and a vet appointment for my dog...threw me off, and I just wanted to get to the stores.

Picked up some groceries and a rotisserie chicken...getting busy out there.

Glad I went because I didn't get back home until 1 pm.

 Im feeling tired today, so I probably shouldn't do too much....oh well.

 Yesterday I didn't get to 10,000 steps....it was over 9,000 by end of day.

Today is just running around and getting situated here.

@Laura14 ....I truly can relate...my youngest daughter has great talent to attack me out of no where....against my loving motherly nature for her, I have to limit my conversations and exposure with her....extremely hard for me, especially having my grandson involved. 

I try my best not to rehearse and play over and over the hurtful intentions she displays....its a mind battle, but I will not let anyone dictate my composure. 

We can still and must love them and forgive...while using wisdom in our relationships.

 @violet runner ...my recent new basil plant is dying...think i over watered it....I tried repotting it, and also took a cutting to root in water....it looks pathetically ill.

Sooooo, I bought another one today...potted it in a new pot with fresh soil....ughhh, we'll see.

  I hope we have better day tomorrow as we approach the finish line...WHEW 😨

Hi All.

Had some news today that took the wind right out of my sails, as they say.  So I'm feeling down and not in the mood to do much of anything.  I did, however, make myself do some upper body exercises with my strength bands and I did some weighted squats.  That was it for any kind of workout.  Just couldn't find the energy to go to the gym.  Did some dusting and light housework, mostly just to keep myself busy and not thinking too much but it didn't work so well.  Got the housework done but can't stop thinking of my friend.  Such a hard time of year to lose someone.  

Since no one is coming here, except for DD on Christmas morning for a little while, and I'm going other places, I don't need to do much as far as the house is concerned and I'm not cooking.  So the next few days should be pretty easy.

Now if the weather will cooperate - we're expecting lot of rain and wind starting late this afternoon going through tomorrow.  Makes me a bit nervous about driving.

I also did a small binder for 2026 at work for some new routines in every aspect from cooking, to cleaning, exercise, and time management along with some passion projects. I am starting the new year right. 

For tomorrow, I have to bake a cake and cook the lasagna. Probably do that now while I am thinking of it. I'm not sure how early I'll be off work.

Half the family called off tomorrow so my shoulders have gone down a little bit and what I am making for dinner as well. My boss even offered to give me Friday off so I am thinking about it. We'll see.

I might prefer to be at work instead. If I lived alone, I would have thrown myself at his feet and thanked him. And I am seriously considering going to the movies Christmas morning for It's a Wonderful Life. 

And bravo QVC. My sheet set actually got here today which I expected from Berkshire. QVC also marked my headphones delivered with tomorrow's date. I checked tracking and they are in Atlanta, but not at my house so close but no cigar. 🙃

I hope they deliver before tomorrow night if they are coming. I can't have something that techie sitting on the porch. I will need to wait for it before I drive over to show up for Christmas so it may be a blessing in disguise. 

Anyway, prayers up for everyone to have a peaceful holiday prep. I was exhausted just reading @Dazlin 's post.

Hello, sounds like a lot of us are struggling.   I can so relate. 

 @JudyL I am so sorry for your sad news regarding your friend, keeping you and her in my  prayers.

 I did the TG for 40 minutes, used the Vibration plate, and the lat pull down machine, and reformer.  A lot accomplished in under an hour.  Then made my baked beans for tomorrow and a Pistachio dessert.   We just grilled our first Kansas City steaks on the grill.  We grill all winter long.

@Laura14  I love that movie, I have it recorded.  Family right!!   Take that Friday off if he is giving it to you.  Lasagna sounds so good!

Hopefully everyone stays healthy and safe this season, find some time for peace, and quiet with everything turned off.  Take a breath, count your blessings instead of sheep.   Trivia question: what movie is that from?   Love it!

 @JudyL  Hope you are feeling better today.. Getting sad/ bad news can rock us at times- also hope your weather stablizes.. lots of rain out there. If you need to get rid of any- we'll take it. We here in CO are gonna break a record temp for Xmas Eve Day - 68...  Nice for all those traveling.

@Laura14 and @Dazlin  you two warriors have prepped some mighty fine foods!!  Maybe we  should all meet and have one heck of a pot luck!!  Wouldn't that be something.!

   My big day is today.. Family coming late morning. I cooked and baked yesterday- I am ready as I'll ever be. Presents wrapped..

  Tomorrow is also supposed to be real nice-  I hope to get out hiking- well, more walking in nature.   And since I have both Netflix and Amazon Prime, it'll be a football day.. My Broncos play in the evening. Hope we bounce back from our loss on Sunday.

 I will second what @Laura14  said in one of her entries. This is a good supportive group and I look forward to coming here and sharing..

@violet runner I would love that! I cooked my lasagna last night, my triple fudge birthday cake just got frosted and placed in the refrigerator, and I will do the Italian pole beans tonight before I go. Of course, feel free to run screaming from the crazy lady at any time. I take no offense. 🤣

I have not slept right in days so tonight should be interesting. Not sure if work will ask me to stay all day or not, so it's going to be an adventure.
