@bopper not sure where your son lives, but that seems to be the rule today- Xcel cut service to alot of people because of the wind and dry weather. Many are saying they didn't get much communication with the company- I live in Longmont and we have our power- do not buy from Xcel so our power has remained on unless mother nature knocks down a pole or something. So far it's been a decent day- sure, some high gusts- the worst is to come. Boulder has all but shut the city down.. No schools open or Univ. plus bank branches, and stores etc.. The kids role into Xmas break after today anyway. And I guess finals will be postponed until a lter date.
I ran errands and it was a zoo- I think people from Boulder and other parts came here cause we are open. Plus the holiday shopping in general..
I cam back and got in about a 2.5 mile walk- it was breezy, but its warm- pushing to 70.
What a wild and strange holday weather season.
My broccoli soup wasn't too green at all.. but I didn't use spinach and I used crushed carrots which actually gave my soup a golden look- plus the half and half- and I added cheese.. ( of course).
Plan 1 more short walk if mother nature allows me.. I wear a beanie so my ahir doesn't go all ove the place. If the gusts continue- well, I may skip.
Hope everyone is warm and safe... And @Laura14 - congrats on a good bonus. I am certain you earned every penny of it.
@Dazlin and @bopper I got my GS a floor adjustable chair- for gaming, reading, resting..it fold flat and can be stored under a bed.. Got a great price- now to figure out how to wrap it. The sale color was brown- other colors pink, purple, black, and a creme ( I think)..Yes, it's a Xmas gift.
And @bopper with our warm temps I haven't bought the fleece line pants from Amazon.. when it gets cold again, I think I will.
Football game galore coming up. College tonight..
NFL having some on Sat. this week..
For me the prepping will begin Tues.. Until then, I am a hunter gatherer... getting the ingredients lined up!

@Laura14 ...mayo did mine ...along with some amazing health/ physical factors.
Anyway, i am 79 percent European with small percentages of :
SARDIINIAH
MIDDLE EASTER NORTH AFRICA .0.3 %
BEDOUIN
PERSIAN
I was very surprised being both sides of my family are from Sicily and Naples.
I researched it and I think it was 100 years back that they migrated from those areas basically for work, and mostly farming.
I dont even look Italian...im very fair, hazel/ brown eyes....my hair was naturally brown....but i started getting pure white in my early 20's....so im just about a natural blonde. I throw a light beige platinum color on, very close to my roots....its very easy for me since im so white. I think all white looks very aging...ill never go that route.
I Think I have the Sicilian temper....im all sweet, very loving....until.
@violet runner , I admire your ambition to go walk, and twice, after a busy day!!
You've got some good energy for sure, and a healthy mind-set.
I cannot say that about myself.
I think all my ingredients are in...not planning on shopping for food till after Christmas ( I hope) I too will start prepping by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Not sure if im getting my GS this weekend through Tuesday....my daughter wanted to bring him late Sunday night after a party...I dont appreciate that, and them traveling here 95 miles at night, and id have put him straight to bed. I am NOT a night owl either.
So ...she in her snarky way, replied, she'd try find someone up there.
Nothing new...same ole. I just pray for my little guy to be in good hands.

@Dazlin Wow, we should be related somewhere along the line. I have two sets of grandparents who emigrated from the Naples area. I am definitely of the Sicilian branch though. Black hair and black eyes with olive skin although the grey hairs have definitely arrived and have been banished for now. I found my hair color on sale at Kroger last week and bought four boxes. 😂
I arrived home and my Curtis Stone food warmers are here. These are big suckers! I am eager to try them out next week and at home. I almost got the silicone dividers and thought why for something so small? I now know why! I will have to pick them up.
I am joining you guys on the errand running tomorrow and I haven't gone walking in forever. I think I might stop by the park tomorrow after the donation and take a hike. It's warming up here beautifully.
Oh and my exercise peeps have a new 28 day challenge for me. I'll need to look it up and see what it's all about for the new year. I guess they got tired of the weekly one. 🏋🏻♀️
Speaking of, off to dinner and my weights! 👋

@Laura14 ....I also wanted to mention, and everyone else here.
My cousin just came back from an 18 day vacation in Italy.
She is older than me and was always on thin side until her late 60's, now late 70's..she says every year she goes up 5lbs. and it doesn't come down.
Anyway, she said while in Italy, she noticed no one is fat !!
Naturally their diet is rich in pastas, breads and cheeses, not to mention the Margarita pizzas.
She said they dont serve eggs and bacon, breakfast meats for breakfast, no processed cereals, or foods.....they serve fresh fruits and pastries.
So what's going on?? She saw while on tours the animals graze on rich pastures, no pesticides, mostly organic everything, and all the flour, cheeses, and foods are grown right there, locally, and all daily fresh. She really thinks all that must have something to do with it.
Also...she ate very very well there, all the pastas, pizzas, desserts, etc and she didn't gain 1 ounce!!
Whatta ya think about that??

@Dazlin I think I just bought a dollar house in Italia! I will try it! 2026, here we come. 🇮🇹
12-19-2025 07:48 PM
@Laura14 ...im coming too!
BTW, my cousin is looking too buy something there, and go for 4-5 months out the year.
She said there's something that just draws her there, feels like home.
Guess cause our grandparents were there.
She mentioned the sweet smells of the lemon trees, and olives...she's begging me to go...lol.

Happy Saturday, fitness peeps!
I finished up my strength challenge last night and it looks like they are switching to a 28 day challenge with nonsense videos and the real thing of power class, core, and centergy classes. I don't like Centergy so this is not going to work for me.
I guess my weekly challenges are over and I will be doing my own thing which is actually good because I have been sprinkling in my ride classes and I really want to get back to Fight.
Anyway, I am exhausted. I got up super early to hit Walmart before everyone descends. They were still busy at 6am so I got out as fast as I could.
I wanted to pick up a small item or two for my mom's birthday on Monday. Already have her gifts, but since I am working that day I am going to leave her a box of her Starbucks vanilla coffee and hopefully a good book I picked out and some roses.
As I am waiting to go to my blood donor appointment today, I decided to take a look see on QVC and this coupon they have going. I saw that Bose has really dropped their headphone price and I was sorely tempted. I have gotten nothing for myself this year and the coupon actually worked on top of the lowest price I have ever seen.
I also threw in a set of Berkshire polar fleece sheets I had saved and used the whole $50 off. Score! And supposedly, they will get it to me by Christmas which I believe with Berkshire since I've bought seveal things from them these past few months and get it ASAP.
Bose we will see. I have never bought anything from them before and I am so excited to try it out. I love music around the house and my walks. I think I might go more often if I can really shut out the people on the paved loops since I don't want to hike the woods with the cyclists running me over anymore, especially in the "cold" weather.
I actually had someone show up to work yesterday looking like they were about to ski with hats and gloves. It's in the fifties here, people. I didn't bother with a coat and they look like a blizzard is coming.
Have a great weekend, may your holiday prep be easy and soon over, and enjoy your Saturday!

Good morning.
Well I am feeling every muscle in my body this morning from my workout yesterday. My arms, my inner thighs, my bum, my thighs, my chest muscles, everything is letting me know that I worked them yesterday. I'm kind of glad I forgot to do the weighted bridges.
Today I have decided will be an easy day. It's supposed to start raining soon, I've got lots of snacks in the house, and I may not even stick my nose out the door. My wonderful little Willow does not understand that it is cold outside and is insisting I open the front door so she can sit and look outside. She does love to watch the rain. I've opened the shutters on the windows so she can sit on the window ledges and look out but, nope, not good enough, she wants that front door open. It isn't going to happen. LOL We'll see who wins.
Have a good Saturday everyone!

Happy Saturday! Was sunny earlier and now all clouds.
@violet runner my son is in Arvada. He said 500 yards from his house they have power, that's kind of insane~! And they have had no wind at all. 3 days is a long time when you have littles!! But I understand the safety issue and then think about the folks without power for months from hurricanes.
Today I did a rebounding workout from Earth and Owl, and some vibration plate using hand weights. Calling it good, my lats are so sore I can hardly lift my arms over my head.
I think regarding the soup, I added way to much spinach and to much broccoli. Oh well, next time will be better.
I can't believe how warm it is in so many places!!! I mean Christmas when it's 70!!
We'll be upper 30's so they say on Christmas.
The rest of the day I'm chilling and watching some movies.
Oh and yes lots of good games today! Go Bears tonight ![]()
