Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi everyone...hope your day is going well !!

I got a good walk in....did some leg exercises before.

I actually walked pretty fast...always some drama with 3 daughters...so i needed to blast out ...lol

Things are getting very busy here with preparations...im having everyone for Christmas....so im writing  down all that I have to do, and shop last minute foods, etc.

I do get anxious over it...but I know it'll get done.   Just hate being pressured to do this, that, and the other thing on top of my every day chores and horses.

Tomorrow I plan to go out and get in some foods and gift cards.

Im also preparing to have things in if grandson comes this weekend through Tuesday...daughter needs coverage those days.  She started the new job and he started extended daycare care.   Ill find out later how thats going. ...I just found out she started from my oldest daughter....ughhhh, communication 😑

Alrighty all...hope your doing well and no anxiety, like me 😬

Take care and enjoy your day!! 🥰

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good holiday wishes to you too @DrKelli ! I was in Lyons watching Luc and Laura's wedding. We were practically neighbors!

You are the pickleball queen-- it looks fun. I tried it a few times and wasn't very good at it.

Not windy here today, but tomorrow more of the same as yesterday which was insane.

My son in WY had a fire near him- Thankfully it got under control.

Went to the rec center this morning and then walked outside with DH because the cleaning ladies were here.. I adore having a clean house..  Wish  I could afford to have them come twice a month.

Like you @Dazlin  I am into to lists for making Xmas foods. I'd like to think I have it all under control.. I  am not used to hosting this holiday and it's going to be Xmas Eve Day.

BTW- the broccoli soup came out good- I added a little half and half.. I think the potaoes were a nice added ingredient. Thanks again.

I am deeply saddened the  white house admin. is gonna cut NCAR- it's  been in Boulder for decades with scientists predicting extreme weather events.. I hope if nothing else they find a home elsewhere to still do good work. I know they saved lives.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi all, I got groceries today as this weather will get nasty tonight into tomorrow.  Montana and Wyoming are having terrible weather, 144 mph winds.  It's been dark here today as well.

I am taking a rest day today, I'm sore all over from legs and abs.   My little bones on the inside of my elbows hurt, everytime I use weights for upper body.

I tend to get anxious over the "to do" list and I shouldn't.  Nobody would notice here anyways.

I will make my baked beans and bring a shrimp tray to my sisters next week.

@DrKelli so good you popped yourself in.  I sure hope the New year brings you more happiness.   My hubby loves to play PB.  He's playing now in the school gym actually because here we are in winter mode.

@Dazlin shrimp and marinara spaghetti sounds so good!

Not much else here, enjoy the rest of the day

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi All!

@violet runner  - When I heard about the winds in WY and CO, I thought of you and hoped you were ok.

@DrKelli  - It was so good to see your post this morning.  When my leg/knee is stronger, I want to try pickleball.  Can't seem to find anywhere in my area where it's played.

Don't know if I"ll get a walk in today or not.  Didn't make it to the gym this morning.  Ended up going to Safeway, Walgreens, and Trader Joes.  Then home to put all the food away.  With all the trips up and down the 2 flights of stairs that I have to get to my front door bringing in the groceries, I feel that I've got my leg workout done.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Thursday night,

Swore it was still Wednesday. I can't believe tomorrow is the end of the week.

Got my holiday bonus today and I was in shock at how much they gave me. They like me. They really like me. It will definitely help with some new passion projects for 2026.

I did Core class tonight and I hated the entire program so I am glad it is done and it's not normally in rotation. Usually I don't mind most of them, but this one was stupid.

Have a good night all and I hope everyone is ready for next week. Got a blood donation appointment on Saturday and a birthday on Sunday and Monday. Have to sneak in a small grocery trip at some point too.

I think I am ready for the holidays to be done and people to be nice again.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Hi all !!   Today was just 2 stores for groceries and gift cards.

Not sure I'll go walk, but ill get some more steps in later outside with the dogs.. I have a long driveway, and I play ball with them in the pasture...I have no choice...Bosco will stare at me, and drop his big heavy ball on me until I finally go.

It's in the 80's today ☀️.

@Laura14 , congrats on your bonus,  how nice!?

@violet runner ...glad your soup came out good 🫢

Yesterday I made chicken meatballs, Italian style...I baked them on convection, came nice and crispy.   I then dropped them in jasmine rice with a jar of Alfredo, and some frozen broccoli and peas...lots of seasoning and grated parmesian cheese....another fairly easy dish.   Had to make chicken legs for this guy too.

@bopper aren't you going to your son??  You were deciding whether to fly or drive?

Nice though, your going to your sister.  Takes a load off you....its sooooo much work to get it all together...but i have a somewhat big family,  and I do it all Italian....so its ALOT to do.  Im starting on the dining room tomorrow, and will make the sauce Monday or Tuesday,  then start the lasagna.

Christmas day, ill make stuffed mushrooms, and garlic bread.

Daughter will make antipasta and she bakes the Italian pastries and cookies.

My other daughter and her hubby bringing spiral ham...the guys always have to have their meat.

I really hope I dont put any weight on...I worry it won't come off.

Im stuck with this extra 5-7lbs...no matter how or what I do or eat...so if it goes up...idk 🤬....what ever happened to: What goes up, Must come down 🤔??

Ohhhh @bopper ...I was thinking about your elbow bones hurting with upper body exercises....when/if your using dumbbells...watch how you position your hands...are you keeping them palms, thumbs facing your body?...or are twisting them??

I used to love wearing gloves too...leather without fingers...nice for grip and they're padded.

Have a great Friday everyone! 🎄

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Happy Friday!  It's stormy here, but school was open because we really didn't get much snow, just wind.

I'm stayng here for Christmas, my oldes son lives here with Maddie and Olivia my granddaughters, so we are going to my sisters.   My younger son lives in CO, and we hadn't planned on going there for the Holidays.  He just told me their power is shut off for 3 days, preventative measure because of the wind and the dryness.  Afraid of fires starting.  He went to get a generator now if he can find one.  I'm sure everyone is looking.  @Dazlin I made the soup but am wondering, I must have done something wrong, the whole soup is green.  I think I used to much broccoli and spinach, hence the green.  I even ended up adding a can of condensed cream of chicken soup and still green.   I also made way to much.  2 people here and enough for an army haha.  Freezer will be fine for it.  I just hope it tastes okay.  I did the potatoes also.  Is there anything I can add to take the green out.   I just tasted it, it's very broccoli tasting.   Dang I used to much, my own fault.  I will learn when I do the 2nd batch another day.   I do have my palms up and thumbs wrapped around the dumbbell handle.  I will pay more attention though thank you!

@Laura14 so glad they gave you a good bonus!  You deserve it!

@JudyL how is the wind there?   Seems the West is in wind, the East is in snow/ice, the middle is warmer than average with fire danger.   Good grief!

Have a good Friday everyone!

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@Dazlin My fellow Paisan! I am making Italian green beans and we always have lasagna on the table for Christmas or ravioli. It's what Italians do. Heart

Speaking of, I had to check 23andMe for something today. I think they asked me to update my fitness questions. Haven't been logged into that site in forever.

Anyway, they updated my ancestry percentages. I am now 99.1% Southern Italian as in Sicilian and the remaining .9% is Middle Eastern, and North African.

Tick me off. I dare you. They'll never find your body. Smiley SurprisedSmiley LOL

The kicker is I had someone tell me a couple weeks ago I am a triple fire sign with the zodiac astrology which means I am 100% fire with all of my sun, moon, and rising signs. I am HOT STUFF people! Smiley LOL

I am wrapping up work now and then I need to drop by the bank. I decided to get up super early tomorrow and hit Walmart before my blood donation and the crowds to stock up for the next week's worth of foods. I want to be out and about not at all until next weekend.

Sunday we party for my mom's 75th birthday. It's going to be a whirlwind.

I have sticky notes everywhere for things I need to do as the year turns with CD maturities, IRA contributions, switching doctors and I forgot the rest. I need the vacation I never took this year.

The good news is my 401K and auto insurance switched as expected this week with no issues. That means everyone can live another day. LOL

Oh yeah! And I have to do my Power class to finish off my strength challenge. Hoping to get that in tonight.

Have a great weekend all! Stay safe, relax, keep warm, and may your lights shine and stay on.  Heart

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

@bopper , YES,  the soup should be green, lol. 🥦

Also, yes tastes like broccoli.   Maybe you just dont like broccoli??.

Don't bend your wrists while lifting...keep aligned with your forearms,  straight.   I know,  I sometimes i get sloppy.

It's hard to picture without actually seeing...I think you'll figure it out...you've got alot of experience.

Thats terrible about that dry wind...I can't imagine no power in that cold weather.

We run a generator during hurricanes...its a help,  but got to rotate appliances, and our water is on well...so that needs the power on too...or no water, no toilets....its awful.

We have learned to get around it all...and stock up, fill up with water here.

Hope he finds a generator....it does help.

Re: WELCOME TO THE DECEMBER EXERCISE THREAD

Good afternoon.

Had an appt with the trainer this morning.  Afterwards picked up a couple prescriptions then came home.  Feeling kind of tired today so not sure if much else will get done.

@bopper  - No wind here.

Enjoy your Friday!
