Tried every spray, pill, ointment, gel, cream. Bought a 40.00 Brookside massaging/heat gun from Walmart.
Afraid to swallow to many Tylenol PM's. My husband was a pharmacist and said they will eat your liver if you abuse them. I just take at the most 2 a day.
Mostly, naproxyen sodium and Ibuprofen.
Saw a commercial for VapoFreeze and SalonPas spray is pretty good too. VapoFreeze has plenty of menthol
in it. I got osteoarthritis of the shoulder/arm.
Space in arm to where they can't give me shots
Guess Xray doesn't pinpoint exactly where it is and they don't want to give me a shot willy nilly.
I don't want a MRI, had one and the noise would wake the dead. No, thanks. Had physical therapy helped some don't have time for more exercise.
VapoFreeze has been a relief.

Great that you found what works for you.
I have RA and have experimented with practically every OTC pill, patch and spray out there.
Personally, I prefer a pain reliever, like lidocaine, in the topical products .... and don't want to smell like an old person. Just not crazy about the strong menthol smell.
JMO, of course.

I use Walmart brand Equate cool and heat roll on with 16% menthol. I was using Icy Hot spray. Helps my neck and shoulder pain. Glad you found something that works and I'll check out what you are using.

I have tried various ones, but BioFreeze is the best for me.

Yeah, menthol can be tricky. Vapofreeze you shake the can real well first and move the dispenser around till it sprays.
It does smell and you want to be careful not to get in your eyes, etc.
SalonPas spray is really good too. It's hard to find walmart doesn't sell the spray can any longer. I found it at the Drug Emporium and bought 4 cans. It's odorless
and sprays nice.
Osteoarthritis, I'm figuring out you can't get rid of it.
Just manage it the best you can with sprays and OTC
meds. I tried prednisone pills where you start off taking
4 a day, then, 3, then , 2, then 1 for 7 days. That's a prescription thing, but, couldn't tell any big difference
Just old age!! Welcome to the 'golden years"!

I really like Nakery pain lotion and also I buy a cbd pain relief cream that is wonderful too. both work on my aches and pains, I rely on tylenol and can't take the other nsaids--ruins my gut!! Have had shots in my shoulder too --but not steroids--they make my heart palps go wild and I HATE mri's!!! Was thinking about those sprays---the patches help me too. this getting old IS NOT.....for sissies!!!!

I would love to try some of the sprays but hate the smell. I usually just suffer through but when it's bad enough, I'll take tylenol.
