Re: Update on wifes brain surgery

Happily, it sounds as though things are on the way to being back to normal at your house.

Re: Update on wifes brain surgery

Wonderful! I'm so happy Pooky, for you and for Ria!

And as the first hurdle is behind her, next comes rest, rehabilitiation and recovery. Appearances can certainly be deceiving as she has been through so much!  My heart goes out to her for her sheer courage and determination! What an inspiration.

Ria will need to heal mentally as well as physically. It is so important to have someone with you and you are definitely fitting the bill.

When I was finally released after weeks in the hospital after my brain aneurysm rupture, I came home to an (almost) empty house. Hub was a truck driver then and the doctor had insisted he stay with me while I was in my first two weeks in intensive care. When I was released the following month, he had long ago returned to work. I mention all this only as my fur daughter (who has since passed) never left my side and looking back, not sure I would have made it without her or my few devoted friends who helped out. Pets instinctively know something is wrong and want to be there. How lovely your wife has her as well.

Always looking out for your posts. Please remember one step at a time. Wishing Ria steady improvement - God bless both of you.

I'm glad that Ria is through the surgery and she is home with you and pup.  Sorry that she has had a rough time.  You say she is in "great spirits" and this will help her health and get back on track quickly.  With your support and a furry friend by her side, she can't help but feel better.  Take good.care of yourself as well as your wife...wishing you and Ria a long happy life ahead..

Re: Update on wifes brain surgery

I'm so happy to hear she is home @Pooky1.  It's a wonderful day when you can go home from the hospital, get more comfortable, and have loved ones (including "doggie") to greet you and welcome you home. Hope she heals quickly.  She has a lot of people rooting for her and keeping her in their thoughts and prayers.

Re: Update on wifes brain surgery

How fabulous. My Mom had a brain tumor removed

the size of a large grapefruit. When I visited the next day in icu she was sitting up eating scrambled eggs.

I  have fainted twice in my life, that was one time.

Maybe it was the sheer relief, shock?

So happy for you and your family.
