Re: Update on My Husbands MRI

@Suziepeach , @hckynut I am very sorry for tarnishing the name of a doctor.

For all the people that read my post about being a physician, I kindly asking you to be kind to me with my resentlfull coment I made about that profession.

Perhaps you have a son/doughter who is a doctor, I feel bad now about that post of mine!

@Dinaki

Most of us here have put up posts that we wish later we had not. A few of my posts I was able to delete, but I think if someone else "quotes" you in their post, you cannot delete it. Just guessing because at times I can "delete", and other times it was not an option.

Your reply to my post is appreciated and to me it now is forgotten. Thank you.

Re: Update on My Husbands MRI

Tell your dear hubbie to look at facts and statistics for prostate problems. If the mass is cancer, it is one of the very most treatable cancers there is. In fact most men will get it if they reach a ripe old age. Sometimes it is not treated because the most common type is so slow growing, and they figure the person will pass before the cancer becomes a problem. I know this stuff because I was in your shoes 15 years ago. My husband and I reacted just like you but after radiation treatments he was deemed clear. And here he is today, healthy as a horse! Just know that there are wonderful, successful treatments out there if this is cancer. If it's not then all the better! Praying for peace of mind for you and your husband. God Bless!

I will be hoping for the best outcome for you both.  Won't tell you not to worry, that never really works, but do try to rest, both of you.  Over worry won't change anything, and will wear you down, as I believe you realize.  Please let us know how everything is going.

Re: Update on My Husbands MRI

I'm thinking your husband will probably be given several choices on how to approach this. My husbands was on the outside of his prostate so he opted to have the prostate taken out since it wasn't contained.  After that there were shots and radiation. His only symptoms from that were tiredness, hot flashes, and a little pain at the sight of the shot.  He does have leakage and has to wear protection  but his numbers have held steady for all these years (since 2011) so....   he has required no more treatments in going on 10 years now. He is 72. At first they checked him every three months. Now it's only every 6 months. His gleason score still remains low. If it goes up he will require more treatment but it has held now for almost 10 yrs!  I tell you all this so you can both know that there is a lot that can be done and most men live long lives with it.  It's not a death sentence.

@NicksmomESQ ...Just checking in to find out if you and your dear husband are okay.  Has he calmed down at all and how are you holding up?
