Update on Maykoplasty knee surgery

Today is the first day of week 5 -I am doing PT 3x a week - stretches and weights - lifting 6 pounds with both knees and 2 with the surgical only knee. I can bend both knees to 135 degrees so they tell me that is full range of motion. Last week we had friends here for a day looking at model homes in the area and we walked around about 20 of them - I was comfortable and had no pain except a cramp I got in my ankle that kept coming and going. What was that about? Then Saturday DH and I went antique shopping all day - in and out of the car - walking & even ricketty old steps.( I didn't buy anything - what is that all about?)

All in all - even with some slight complications with each surgery I can say absolutely I would do it again and I would definately have them done as close together as possible because then you can PT them both at the same time and save a big chunk of copays. I can't encourage you enough if you need knee surgery or are having knee pain to look into this Maykoplasty resurfacing as a possibility. My heart breaks when I see the TKR folks struggling at PT because it is so much easier for me
