@cheriere I would definitely ask for a supervisor and if that gets you no where ask for the supervisor's supervisor. Take very good notes, get names and write down times of each call. Good luck!

@SaveTheTurtles Thank you 😊. I took notes whenever I called the first time in November. I basically read what I was told back to the guy I spoke with. I'm sure he knew I had to have been telling the truth by all the information I had. Better believe today's notes are incredible! I sure hope things can get worked out Monday. 🤞

It's all so very frustrating! I have been using GoodRx for over a year and each time the coupon provided on the site has worked in my local pharmacy for a significant savings.
Why not check to see if your medication would work through GoodRx?

@cheriere ---agree totally with the poster who said to keep calling!! You've taken good notes---continue to do that and keep calling. Sounds like the nonsense I went thru with Social Security for 10 months of last year---but I kept calling and waiting often for an hour at least and sometimes more. I have no idea who these people are that are SUPPOSED to be there to help--but often are idiots at best!! I ended up getting in touch with my congress person of my district for help and believe it or not, they were going to step in if I hadn't gotten the one person in all those months--that knew what the he** he was doing---keep calling!!!!

@haddon9 Thanks 😊 I am going to try the goodrx for a lot of my meds that I know it will cover. But the meds with no generics that are so expensive that I take, I'm sure it won't cover. For instance, Enbrel costs $8900 a month if not covered by insurance. How crazy is that! I'm gonna see if my dr can call and get an emergency approval or something on these meds. I don't know if it will work?

@cheriere wrote:I've spent the last 3 hours on the phone with my prescription insurance company. I received a letter in late September that my part d coverage would be changed unless I was willing to pay a higher premium to remain with my current provider. Because they've always been good about approving some very costly prescriptions I decided it was worth it for me to pay and stay with them.
A few days later, as instructed in the letter, I called to let them know I'd chosen to remain. I asked various questions, took notes & was told that they'd notify Medicare and I would receive a bill sometime in January. I'd ask to pay right then, but was told I couldn't.
Yesterday, I got a letter from the company dated December 27, congratulating me that the prescription my dr had requested authorization had been approved until December 31st 2024. Having thought this was surely the bill, I called today to ask when it would be sent. I was told that I'd been dis-enrolled in the plan because they hadn't heard from me???
I went over the date I called, everything we'd talked about, this letter etc. I was on hold while he spoke with others what seemed like forever. Then, was told if I still wanted to enroll I could but it wouldn't be effective until February 1st and I'd have to get ALL my previously approved medications re-approved.
Ultimately I signed back up. They still wouldn't let me pay today and offered no real assistance about my medications that I can't afford to pay for this month that are due Tuesday & Saturday. I was just so mentally frazzled at this point, I didn't bother with asking to speak with someone else.
Since these calls are supposed to be recorded and all, why is it they claim to be unable to find a record of my contacting them? I must've spent 45 minutes the first time I called going over all of my personal information & a million questions I asked about. Just wondering if anyone thinks another call Monday asking for someone higher up might help? This has got me tore all to pieces.
When you call, always ask for the name of the person you're speaking with and the time and date. MOST importantly ask for the REFERENCE NUMBER of the call. That's the record of your inquiry.

@wagirl Oh my goodness, I know how Social Security can be too! I'm sorry you had to go through that, but glad you finally got through to someone who actually helped you.
This morning I felt like I'd woke up to this nightmare all over again. I hate feeling anxious & angry! I did my part and called immediately like they asked. I just don't understand how incompetent a person can be to do this to someone. All I can do is try again Monday morning.
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. It's nice to be able to talk about this with friends who've dealt with similar situations. 😊💕

@ScrapHappy I didn't know there was a reference number for a call. Thank you 😊. I will mention this whenever I call back.
