The best collagen supp for joints is UC Collagen II , take 1 daily which is 40 mg. I usually buy Vitacost brand from their website, get good deals on it, it can be pricey. UC II is rec by the Arthritis Assn.

@SilleeMee I will chime in on that. Because so many of the suppliments now are way more than a recommended maximum dose. You have to check everything now to see what a safe and/or needed dose really is.

Collagen supplements and their recommended doses vary widely. There's no 'RDA' set for that particular supp and whatever a person's body processes also varies widely. In other words each person's nutritional needs depends on several factors and those factors can include general health status. For instance, I'm on bone density drugs where the need for a diet rich in proteins is helpful to build my bones. That's just one example. Your's will be different, obviously.

I've been taking Andrew Lessman collagen for at least a decade.
It says take a scoop and I do two daily.
They're also being used for weight loss.
I take marine and animal.
The Q sells Nature's collagen plus other natural supplements for weight loss. I've tried it and it sure does slow down any cravings.
Try it!

The type of collagen (I to V) you take doesn't mean it will be directed towards any specific area of the body such as joints or skin. Digestion breaks down collagen into amino acids and then the body processes the amino acids according to where they are needed if they are needed at all. You cannot direct any type of collagen to go to your joints, skin or any place else. Collagen supps go where they are needed and not target where you think they go by taking a specific type regardless of what the product claims it can do.
