The recall is being issued for the potential presence of E. coli. During routine FDA sampling of the five-pound bag product, results were found to be positive for E.coli.
Hodgson Mill of Effingham, IL, announced today a voluntary national recall of specific lots of its Unbleached All-Purpose White Wheat Flour (5 lb.)

@Mindy D @Thanks.I will check my flour.I always wonder about the safety of the food I am purchasing these days.I don’t buy much to consume raw.

@Mindy D. Why don't we just assume that all flour is potentially dangerous and avoid eating anything made of it uncooked? As soon as I buy it, I dump it into a canister and don't remember the brand and surely don't have lot numbers. This constant posting of warnings is getting old. Most of us are already aware of the possible danger of eating certain uncooked foods.

The warnings are helpful to some of us. We use King Arthur Flour and checked the codes immediately after @Mindy D posted them.
Just avoid opening the threads if they are of no interest. There are plenty of "I Broke a Nail" threads on here no one complains about.

I like to hear about the recalls..reminds me to send warnings to my sons family.

@CatsyCline. It's like the boy who cried "wolf" too many times. After awhile, nobody pays any attention. Your son and family are probably sick of hearing about it too.

I agree! Enough of the recalls. Why don't we just stop eating, it would be easier.

@dex I bought a new bag of flour a few days ago and noticed something new on the wrapper. It has a warning about trying food that you are cooking. It said do not eat anything with uncook flour. Maybe it has always been there, I don't so maybe it we don't, we won't get sick. I noticed sometimes flour isn't always cooked on the airfrying chicken. So maybe spraying a little oil on the chicken will correct this problem.

I dip chicken in egg and then flour to air fry...don’t see any uncooked flour.Maybe you use too much flour.
