I have a very painful and stiff trigger finger (my left ring finger). I'm aware of the usual treatment for this type of ailment--using finger splints, taking NSAIDS, trying cortisone shots, and, as a last resort, surgery--but I am wondering if any of you out there who may have had this have any other options for me to try. The finger splint made my finger worse by producing more stiffness, and the NSAIDS have had no effect. My doctor also suggested using ice, but that hasn't helped either. I guess the next step is a cortisone shot. Are there any exercises or other things I can try to help? I don't mind trying the cortisone, but I really don't want to have the surgery. Any advice would be so appreciated!
