@willdob3
Love your information—thank you! I always try nutrition and avoid drugs.

My middle finger left hand has been locking up for quite awhile and sometimes hurts pretty bad right below the finger in palm. Now I’m noticing the beginning of my ring finger right hand doing same thing. I’ve been trying different supplements figuring it’s an inflammation thing. I’m going to try what you’re doing.

@Teddie  I hope it helps. I consider doctors and drugs to be mostly last resort. Drugs tend to mask symptoms rather than fix underlying problems. The more surgeries we have, even if needed, the weaker our bodies become.

If I knew what caused it that would help. I’ve been seeing a very smart, compassionate chiropractor and acupuncturist but what he’s tried hasn’t helped. I’ll keep trying.

@89135 Yes,the meloxicam took care of it in 3 weeks. I had a 30 day prescription but it was relieved before then.I have not had a reoccurence since then.

I just had a hamstring/knee injury in March at the gym. I hobbled around for 3 months without it getting better. My doctor said I needed to stop exercising for 2-3 months to let it heal. It kept hurting and I went to the ortho doctor.He prescribed meloxicam again and my knee was significantly better in 3 weeks again. I am back exercising at home and will resume in the gym after my vacation.

Good luck in your treatment.

@Estates  So would me taking the 500 mg Naproxen possibly work the same way?  What dosage did you take of the meloxicam?

@89135 I have never taken the other drug so I'm not sure.

I don't remember the exact dosage. It was over 8-10 years ago so I can't recall. I just looked at the dosage I took for my knee and it was 7.5 mg once a day.I was told that was a low dosage. But meloxicam does the trick for inflamation in my joints.

 My trigger finger turned out not to be trigger finger at all. The finger specialist said it was a problem at the base of the pointing finger that causes it to lock sometimes...he said he could fix it with surgery, but the finger would not bend any longer.  I decided to just live with it.
