My acid reflux is aggravated by toothpaste that contains mint. While doing research I notice people undergoing radiation also have a problem with mint.  I found Claire which I ordered from the company but they are sold out and have been for some time. I tried using baking soda to brush but then discovered it can harm tooth enamel. My latest purchase was a watermelon flavored children's toothpaste with no fluoride. Is anyone familiar with an unflavored toothpaste?

@On It    Do you swallow your toothpaste?  Seems like that's the only way it would cause an acid reflux reaction.

I may unknowingly swallow some but I did see the mint causing problems for others.  Doctors and I are working to get acid problem under control. In the meantime almost every toothpaste has mint. A few are cinnamon but most are mint. Now rinsing mouth thoroughly with water but not using mint anymore

I wish I had known about these during chemotherapy. My mouth was so inflamed that brushing my teeth with regular toothpaste was agony. I did use baking soda.

I am truly sorry you and so many others are suffering because of this. Surely there is a manufacturer out there who could help us out. How about Beekman?

Thank you and all the others for trying to help. I went to Colgate's web site and looked at the ingredients. Down the list was the word "Aroma*" so I looked at the footnote. Aroma includes Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil. They hid it. Imagine trying to find that in the store with the small print used for ingredients on the packaging.
