Re: Tooth filling bite off

[ Edited ]

@Kitty Galore   if you feel funny about going to other dentist because of the assistant...just go anyway and say this was more convenient for you. Just make sure you like this dentist before, have  had dealings with him or he has a lot of experience. I had a an off-bite effect me for months.  I had stabbing pain.  Found out it was referral pain.   The tooth on right side was causing pain on left side of mouth .  Finally, after a few months, this other dentist did one tweek, and voila! It was fixed.  No more pain.

I had a crown several years ago on the upper left.  I kept going back and telling the dentist the crown wasn't right.  He did more xrays/impressions and filed the crown down slightly.

Kept going back because it just wasn't right.  To make a long story short, the third time was a charm.  He removed and had a new crown made and the third time it worked. Don't know if it was my dentist's fault, or the lab.

So glad he made it right.

I had my dental appointment yesterday .   He felt after examination that although not  a perfect fit together with the upper molar ,   do touch ,  but he realizes I dont feel they do as before and that by the original dentist shaving down a bit of the points and rounding them it did take away from what I previously had.

he said give it another week and they only other alternative is a crown which my present dental practice where he previously worked will with there specialty Trex scan , he doesn't have it yet, very expensive with his practice being new it would be somewhere down the road.  The scan would make it fit perfectly to my mouth and other teeth.    He said to ask for the owner , he is the best , he pulled my wisdom tooth and I was very impressed with him .  No pain during or even after which I've never found after an extraction.

So that's where I am ,   Bite is feeling better and I can chew relatively well so I'll see how it goes.

Dental is very important, to prevent pain, if nothing else.  Get and go to a good one, it's worth it on all counts in my book.  Good luck.
