Dear gloriajean, in the name of God I declare victory for both your eye surgeries! I had cataract surgeries in both eyes too, 2 weeks apart for each surgery. My cataracts were so severe that the doctor had to use a separate device to measure the severity of my cataracts, I also had Astigmatism in both eyes. The company I work for decided to send me home early (with pay - thank God ) while I was still in the process of consulting and choosing surgeons (due to insurance policies) for my own safety because I a!most got hit by a car twice while crossing the street to go get lunch, I was almost blind, neighbors would smile at me and I would completely ignore them because I could not see their facial features, I would meet with friends and they would wave at me, and I could not see them, they would have to stand in front of me and call my name. God used my surgeon to restore my vision and I am completely sure and confident he will do exactly the same for you! please keep us posted on your recovery, take good care of yourself, follow the doctor's advice and be safe, God bless !!!

Of course you're anxious but as others have said here it is a painless procedure and the results are wonderful. I had both eyes done, a month apart and only need reading glasses now. I'd worn ever increasing prescription eyeglasses from the first grade on. Not only did the cataract surgery give me perfect distance eyesight without glasses but it made driving, working and reading so much better than before.
One "warning" you will now see cobwebs in your home that you never thought were there! ![]()

Sending prayers and good thoughts. As some of the other posters have mentioned, I think the prep was much worst than the surgery. No after effects. Good luck

Today I had my first follow up - everything is good. Next one is in a week. I can see well far, but not close. After my next eye is done, I'll be getting some reading glasses with a prescription that I will need. I am now not having to wear my glasses. Drops 4 times a day. Thanks for your posts and prayers.

Question, @gloriajean......with only one eye done, do you feel off balance or dizzy like when you get glasses that aren't correct for you? I get motion sickness or vertigo sometimes.

@gloriajean glad to hear you're doing well. I need the surgery, too, but putting it off because of the virus.

No, I don't feel dizzy, it's just blurry, but my eye now sees very well, so I don't need glasses. It's the reading that's hard now until I get those corrective lenses.
