Had a similar situation.. went to podiatrist.. they removed the nail.. then I had to soak my food in betadine for a few days.. new nail eventually grew in and all is fine.. I will be honest I had pain with mine until he removed it.. hope your doing ok

I have had this issue. It grows out and becomes ok... till I bump it or something again. My doc said there was nothing like fungus growing under the nail, so no treatment advised. I would suggest you see your doctor to ask about that.

It takes so long for the nails to grow out when they are bruised like that.

You could call around to primary care or urgent care clinics. Some practitioners would be glad to take it off for you. You could inquire about the costs involved. Some practitioners won't do it, but they have ALL been trained to do so. It doesn't mean they are comfortable with it though. Good luck. I understand the aggravation.
