I don't think anybody (in this thread anyway) is trying to shut you out or be cliquish.
These are just the truths that we have to deal with as far as this board goes. It's the board of a huge national retailer and the only place you'll be able to find such specific forums, as what you are looking for, are either on a board you start or another board that is specific to these issues.
If you want to see cliquish (ha!) check out some of the other forums here. It's big time in some forums and many threads are started for the express purpose of only allowing one POV on a given subject. Here you just have people telling it like it is, that's all.
If you start threads that have the thread title specific to the subject you wish to discuss, you should draw the conversation you seek. If not, I'd check out the sites mentioned. ![]()

O/T but I wish they would move the gamers thread away from other topics and give it their own forum. There are so many. No offense to gamers.
I don't see the connection with sports and health and illness in the same category.
Also people that post pet stories or questions in viewpoints and not on the pet forum.
Same with viewpoints and entertainment. I never know where to look for shows on TV, it seems like most of them end up in viewpoints and not entertainment, movies, TV shows, etc.
I should send an email but maybe it's just me. Anyone else feel the same? I guess we can't have it all.

I haven't the faintest idea what the difference is between "traditional" and "longevity". It's some random thing that only means anything to OP. If there were two boards, people would just post on whichever one they clicked on first, or the one where their friends congregate, not the one that's supposedly most suited to the subject.

And here I thought you were going to say we need two forums, one for people that know what they are talking about and another for those who don't.

We wish that Health issues would be straightforward and many times they are. But, it is also a field that is plagued with charlatans out to make a buck off of false info that caters to people outside the mainstream who are on a quest for a cure for something awful, to limit aging, or for info they can hang on to as a last ditch effort for help. I am speaking in generalities on this thread and not "outing" specific sites or posters.
The sites that cater to those sometimes unwilling victims make their money off advertising, as all websites do...So, to make a buck, essentially they "make it up", whatever their focus is. Then they wait for the money to roll in, carnival barker and snake oil style. A different day, a different age but, essentially the same effect. I see a lot of these falsehood spewing sites used as corroborating evidence when clearly they are created to only back up a rare view held by 2-4% of the population and even less of a percentage of licensed doctors and imminent researchers. That is what registers in most folks minds instantly as "quackery" and soon the battle on these forums is ongoing.
HOWEVER, I must also say that medicine changes and new procedures , methods, and cures come about each day that would seem crazy 20 years ago. Mainstream changes as new advancements are made. Who knew 25 years ago that a bacteria caused ulcers?
So, maybe there should be a MAINSTREAM forum and a HOLISTIC forum?

I believe that the OP wants to view and post in only threads with like minded people. They can correct me if I am wrong. But, that is the jist I got from their post.
My suggestion was only that... a suggestion, and only if there was to be a seperation. Quite honestly, I think it should stay as is. If you are interested in health, then you are likely interested in all views out there whether you agree or not. But, sometimes certain threads turn to arguments and it is human nature sometimes to want to only post in a thread with like minded people.

I usually view all catagories and do not go into each separate catagory. I not pay much attention if a thread is in the wrong catagory... Except for viewpoints. I know some will get their panties in a twist if there is a thread in the wrong catagory.
I think you will get opposing views no matter what, where, when you post. It is the nature of beast for us QVC lovin' women/men.
