Re: Thyroid Testing Yesterday 12/29

@Noel7 I wish you the best. I know from going through all this with my Mom how important it is to have a very good endo. My Mom's endo is still involved in trying to help us even though she's in hospice. And he is such great support to me. He's a special man, and unlike any doctor I've ever met.

Medically I'm not trying to scare you at all. But I would suggest that you have to insist on all possible testing to rule out cancer and don't stop until they do it . Two years ago my Mom had that. Last year she was doing great so no CT scans. Her pc dr never sent her for any. This year the endo was concerned about nodule growth..that eventually led to CT scan. By then it was too late for my Mom. Her thyroid cancer had spread multiple places.

I beat myself up about that all the time. People tell me I shouldn't but I do. I always stayed on top of all her medical stuff. Asked all the right questions, did research. You can't trust that doctors are doing the right things. She didn't have any symptoms this year that would have made me think cancer. She had her thyroid removed after we found out about the cancer, she had to have it out anyway because it was affecting things such as her breathing.
