Thyroid Testing Yesterday 12/29

I'd shoved it in the back of my mind for Christmas but all of a sudden it was here.  I managed to get sick in the car before I even got to the hospital.  DH is sick today so it must be a virus.

I told the radiologists and they said forget it, hop on the table.  CT scan was quick and easy, the throat sonogram was uncomfortable to say the least.  About half an hour long, it felt like choking.

By then I was worn out and ended up going home, without staying for the blood tests, and wearing a hospital gown.  What a cruddy day.

Re: Thyroid Testing Yesterday 12/29

@Noel7 I hope you feel better.  I had to have my thyroid removed a few years ago.

Both of my daughters have thyroid 'issues'.  One had 1/2 of her thyroid removed.

People don't realize how important the thyroid is to the human body.  I must take Synthroid every day or I could die.  Believe me, my Dr makes me understand that I must take it.

I just saw him on Thursday.  He always runs all of these specific tests and (hopefully) I don't have to go back for another few months.

I do have to get my neck scanned again because he's worried about the swelling.  He's been after me to get it done and i guess I finally will.

Take care sweet Noel and do what the Drs say.  Thyroid issues are nothing to mess with.

Please let us know how you are doing.  Fondly, Annabelle.

Thank you @Goldengate8361

I'm hoping it's a Lupus/Hashimoto nodule which will go away.  The other choice is not good.

Thank you, you are so kind Heart

I could not believe it, getting sick IN FRONT OF the hospital.  How embarrassing, I've never done anything like that before Woman Embarassed

Re: Thyroid Testing Yesterday 12/29

@Noel7  I hope you feel better and don't have a serious issue with your thyroid.  If you do it's pretty easily controlled, or at least it is in my case.  I had to have my thyroid removed about 15 years ago.  Now I take levothyroxine, which is a generic for Synthroid.  After the initial testing to get the dosage regulated, it's been steady ever since.  If you don't take the medicine you will have a large weight gain according to my doctor.  I had to have another thyroid scan a few years ago, but nothing was found.
