Periodically, if I need a quick something on the go, I will drink a chocolate Premier Protein shake. I buy them from Sam's Club. Sometimes I add frozen fruit of some kind to it, put it in the blender and make a smoothie/milkshake.

There are 30 grams of protein in them an the protein source is whey. To be honest, they don't do much for me at all as far as stopping hunger so I only use them in a real pinch and more for a snack when I want chocolate.

My Mom is in a Memory Care facility & she sometimes she won't eat, but she loves a chocolate milkshake, so I will add protein powder to it.

She doesn't like the Ensure.

So there are reasons for people to take them.

I'd much rather drink a chocolate protein shake than to eat a piece of chicken or fish.

I drink a shake each morning for breakfast.

Interesting that it says the plant based ones are worse.

More reason to avoid veggies.

Ever heard of people who hawk snake oil? Well, that's what the folks should be called who make, distribute and sell protein powder.

There is no clinical study which indicates that this "protein" powder which, by the way, is more difficult to digest/absorb than natural sourced protein, provides any health benefit whatsoever.

Speak with any Ph.D. teaching college level Nutrition and that person will verify the above.
