My husband has extremely thin skin, his blood work is all within normal range, but if he bumps, scratches or scrapes himself he ends up looking like this:

Does anyone know of a supplement, vitamin or probiotic that can help him? He refuses to go to a dermatologist, we have only one is our area and he has never helped him with any issues.
I started him on collagen but it is not doing a thing for him. Any suggestions?

@We rescue cats

My skin is terribly thin too and I bruise just like those shown, it's just a part of aging.

I've tried everything, expensive and not, but nothing  worked. I also take collagen

I'll just have to resort to long sleeves I guess, LOL!

I thnk it's just an aging thing.  My husband has the same problem.  I tell him he's getting old and thin skinned.  I have also suggested to him that the turmric he takes thins the blood, but what do I know?  Of course, he won't ask a doctor either since he won't go to one.

@We rescue cats. If there's anything that can be done, doctors don't know about it.

That looks pretty bad, maybe if he would wear long sleeves to protect his arms.

@Icegoddess

Why not Google " What causes easy bleeding from bumps, scratches " ?  If there's an article from the Mayo Clinic, give him a copy.  I'd keep one prominently displayed too.  Then just point to it if he has an episode and say nothing.

The message from the experts will say it all for you.

@We rescue cats  My husband bruises similar to that but he is on a blood thinner, I will assume that your husband is not on a medication to thin his blood.

I wish there was an answer, my husband drives me crazy looking at his skin all the time...wondering where a bruise came from.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I was hoping against hope . . . I bought him Arm Protectors but he never thinks to wear them-until he scrapes himself. His mother had extremely thin skin like this as well, so I guess it's something we need to live with.

Thanks again~

I have that problem also. My Dr. told me there is nothing that can be done about it. It is another not so fun part of getting old. The skin thins. The least little bump causes this. My mother had this problem also.

Hi doctor changed his blood pressure med, I need to look the new one up, I mentioned it to him last week and that is when he told me that it had been changed 'last year', my fault for not checking. It does worry me, when he gets a cut it bleeds a lot and that is what started me on this quest.
