Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Pretty photo.  Well, since this is an exercise thread.  I finally started exercising again. Started very slowly with some arm exercises from a youtube video - done 4-5 times a day.  Just added some footwork.

I'm surprised at how little can make such a big difference.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

I am building up my arm strength and endurance by doing some daily heavy-duty weeding!

Yes, it is that time of year, after many rainy days, when weeds are popping up everywhere.

Dig, dig, dig, with the trowel--feel those muscles work!

Hi ladies!  Welcome!   Yes weeding is a workout, and why does it seem overnight more pop up!

Light weights and lots of reps can really tire out those arms.

go get it gang!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

@kate2357  Crossing over to the June thread from a conversation on the May thread. I  thought I could go to ******'s Sporting and try on the mach 6 style of HOKA's - they didn't have any to try on- but took the plunge and ordered  it there online- supposedly coming to my house today. If it doesn't work - I'll just return. And I ordered the pink color- I have never owned a pink in any shoe. And if I don't like that- well, I 'll exchange or just plain get my $ back. I have had the Bondi and Cliftons. And the last few times a Graviota style. This Mach 6 has a heel support and a little narrower ( supposedly). Will see when I get them. There seems to be so many styles out there now and all with a hefty price tag.

Maybe I should just take up grounding and exercise barefoot in the grass.. Actually I should add that to my regimen. I hear its rewarding.

I biked yesterday..  I may again today if time allows.. Weekend commitments sometimes get in the way.

   Have a good weekend all.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

I didn't see my barefoot, tshirt upside down on his head, wannabe monk beating trees today with his staff. Instead we had two idiots screaming and carrying on and distracted a trail runner so badly he wiped out in front of me. Luckily, he said he was okay.

I did every trail and did my best time ever. Two hours for 5.55 miles on four separate trails. Score! I also hit all my weekly time goals and I am seven over goal with stairs and two times my step goals so the rest of the weekend is me time.

I am going to try to get back to my yoga. I barely do it anymore and I think I need to start it up again. I always print out her calendar, but rarely stick to it. My June goal for now.

I did switch over my streaming fitness videos to the annual plan so I am now paying less than what I have for all of last year. I am set for twelve months.

I think I am going to bake two loaves of bread at some point and head over to Walmart for some summer fruit to cut up and have on hand. We are getting close to the 90s, peeps! Summer is going to be a hot one.

Have a great weekend all!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

@Laura14  Gonna be 90 here early next week too, CO has a very arid arid dry climate ( most of the time) but hot is hot.

Excellent on your workout activities.. I salute you! I am feeling good doing my chair yoga and I mix it up- there are alot of Utubes by this person. I use it more as my warm up but now thinking it'll benefit me more than that..  I think I have mentioned my love/ hate for yoga.. Know It's good for me- but can't seem to like it much.

I also think your idea of cut up fresh fruit a very good - I may steal the idea from you today!

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

@violet runner I bought two more sets of locknlock because I keep prepping for grab and go and now office lunches again. I love having healthy stuff to grab and satisfy a craving. It takes me five minutes to cut it ip myself and Walmart is pretty economical about large sizes.

I agree about yoga. I am going to try and add it in as a before bed or after exercise. I notice she's been listing more short programs so I think I will go ahead and take her up on a few while watching my summer reruns.

Re: WELCOME TO THE JUNE EXERCISE THREAD

Good afternoon!  Walked to the end of my street and back 3 times  - one of those included a trip to the dumpsters which are a just a little past the end of my street - and then up and down my stairs twice.  When done with that, my body said "ok, enough for today."  So now I'm sittin'.  Was nice to do a little something & to get outside, weather is beautiful and sunny.

@JudyL

Glad to read you are doing better.

I was able to get out for a run this morning. A neighbor came over to sit with dh, so I was able to get in 5 miles. Then I did some yard work to try to beat the nasty rain we are expecting starting Sunday. I am officially exhausted.
