I was at the dentist today, and I must have the last tooth on the bottom pulled. The one beside it is already pulled, and I have a bridge, but he thinks the root is cracked underneath the back tooth. He is sending me to an oral surgeon, and feels he will say to extract it. He explained that I will not be able to have a bridge because there will be no tooth for the bridge to attatch to. So, he talked to me about getting a partial plate. I do not want one. So, he said all that is left are implants. He explained that they are expensive, and usually not covered by insurance. I assured him that I am willing to pay if its right for me. My question is this.....does anyone have teeth implants? If so, were they painful to get? Do you like them? It sounds like the answer to me, but I've never known anyone that had them! I have to make up my mind before my tooth is extracted......I guess they start the implant as soon as they take the tooth out. Thanks in advance for anything you can tell me!
