Tamiflu and the flu

[ Edited ]

Has anyone responded favorably to this medication? I did get the flu vaccine but contracted the flu anyway. My husband reacted well to tamiflu....for myself it isn't doing anything.

You have to start taking it 48-72 hours of getting the flu if its later than that it wont do much good.

I have never tried it but family that have said it is great. Must be taken promptly though. My pharmacy here in Michigan said it is sold out now.

I hope you feel better soon!

Yes, I took it within 48 hours. The cough and the gastrointestinal symptoms are really awful. I cannot keep food down. This too shall pass....

Oh no, @Trinity11, I'm sorry to hear that.

My daughter, like you got the flu shot, and ended up with the flu anyway. She did respond well to the tamiflu. She was still very ill for a couple of days, but quickly improved after that.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks @corita. That is exactly how I am responding to it.

It is traumatic when you are taking meds to fix a health issue and it creates other health issues!! Go back to doc and try toget something else.

My use of it was so long ago, I really don't remember what else the doc gave me -- probably antibiotics!

  Hope you feel better!!!

I have a friend that is a doctor and when the subject came up last year in general conversation, he told me save your money.
