My son is started high school in a few weeks and I will be dropping him off in the morning. They have a pool available for the community. I am thinking of trying to swim two days a week to mix up my cardio and I know it is great exercise. Any advice for how to get started?

The only swimming I have done is leisurely. I feel confident in being able to swim a lap but have never done laps say for 20 minutes. I assume if I just keep moving it will be beneficial but I am sure i will end up breaststroking because I won't be used to it. I have about 30 lbs to lose and due to chronic migraines and heat this summer I am frustrated.

How do we feel about swimming?
