@ccassaday, so happy to hear that your jaw surgery went well.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Taking time to heal isn't fun!  Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.  I hope this time goes quickly and you do well.

We all dread 'surgery', but the recoup time is worse to me!

Find something you can enjoy doing.  Best wishes.

Had a Wendy's frosty on the way home. One of my favs is mashed potatoes and gravy. I suppose I should go down to the chicken place and get a pint.

Awww, I'm glad you're home now!

Ugh, the wired jaws.  DH had it when I was expecting our first child and our youngest had them wired, both were auto accident related.  Not fun.

Ice cream!  Lots of shakes to make.  The 'clearer' the better.  I remember my son couldn't stand anything *caught* in the wires.  I thought I could put homemade soups in the blender...No go from him!

Just keep your mind on pleasant things.  If things go wonky about the homebuilding, move on to something else!  lol

Everything is going great with the house. Plans are signed and have been sent to the bank. My dad is going over with the project manager next week to put the steaks in the ground. Permits are being pulled. As soon as the permits are pulled and the bank does the appraisel we will be brreaking ground. Probably in 2 to 3 weeks.

Did your surgeon give you a diet to follow to promote good healing or maybe refer you to a dietician, so you can at least maintain the weight you have & not lose?  I'd think lots of protein would be in order for healing.

Yes. Anything that can be put in a blender. I have some protein shakes. Yogurt, tomato soup, cream of wheat. I get stitches taken out next week. BTW those premier protein shakes in the banana flavor are so good. I think today I will add some peanut butter to add some more fat.
