Stick with the walks, as your doctor instructed. What about getting together for lunch with some of your friends? Or, how about inviting friends over for a movie night? If you want to stay in good shape, and get back to the exercise you enjoy, follow the doctor's instructions. NYwoman had an excellent suggestion, use the time to exercise your mind. Binge watch the show you never have had time to watch. Good luck on your recovery!

If you are dying to do something, go to the mall and walk. You need something level and you don't want to be outside where a passing car could kick up debris or an insect could fly into your face.

After my back surgery years ago I lived on the top floor of an apartment building. My doctor said to walk as much as I felt I could, but no walking down the stairs for until I saw him in 7 days to remove the stitches. Now this was not a big apartment building with long, long hallways. There were only 8 units in the building with 4 on each floor.
I walked around and around and around and around. Then would reverse my direction and do the same going counter clockwise. What I did was time myself and increase my time on some type of time table depending on my energy levels and my heart rate.
Now I have tons of equipment in my very full gym and have a piece of equipment for about any kind of injury that precludes me from doing nothing. Sounds like you could use a recumbent or NuStep or something along those lines. NuStep is very expensive, but this is what is used in Cardiac Rehab Classes. For those that had open heart surgery they cannot use their upper body for 4-6 weeks, so they just use the lower part for their legs. People like myself that had Stent Angioplasty were able to use the upper and lower or just the upper, whatever they preferred. I personally traded off depending on how long I was on the machine.
People at times have to improvise. You might look around your home and see if you have anything that can fill the bill, even if you only walk around in circles like I did for almost 10 days after my back surgery.

I'm going to walk for enjoyment, rather than heart rate. I'm going to leave the gadgets at home and look at the trees and flowers changing in my neighborhood. I'm going to look at the clouds instead of carrying the 16 pound backpack and looking at the ground. I'm going to listen to the birds instead of the next book in the cloud.
Out of habit, I still twist in my chair when I'm at work. I can also easily get 10,000 steps at work.
I think I will survive this, now that I'm over the shock of it!

Hon--Watch the weight of your purse--not kidding. I had to adapt to that when recovering from surgery.

HonnyBrown - I just went thru 2 1/2 weeks of letting a sprain heal and I work out HARD 6 days a week (take one day off) I do weights (heavy weights, I curl 25's & 30's) and use my machine and run my Labs, I talked to a friend that is all about nutrition and she told me to just eat VERY clean, no cheating, no sugar and just do what I can, Abs and such and thats what I did. I dont' think I have gained anything and my muscles actually look a little better since dropping so much of the cardio. So, just my advise - REST, your body will love it and keep your nutrition clean and watch the calories just during this time frame, It's not forever sweets!

sandgirl, my most recent attempt at eating clean ended with me eating a half a big bag of my son's M&Ms and a block of gouda cheese at 4am. That was after 2 days!
When a stye doesn't respond to warm compresses after 2 months, the immune system kicks in and isolates it by "building" a fibrous cage. This is the chalazion.

The eyelid is sliced open vertically from the lash line to above the lump, the fibers are cut, the chalazion is removed and the lid is stitched.
I asked to see it afterwards and it's larger than a pea and lumpy. It's going out for a biopsy. I'm curious to know what it's made of.
Gross. I hope you tossed every bit of makeup (everything). Every sponge, brush, applicator, powder, liner, shadow, every single bit. I'd toss the entire vanity out.

I don't understand why you can't do many of the things you listed, but then again, I'm not your doctor!
ical, I was looking for something in the bathroom closet and saw an old mascara that fell behind something. When I pulled it out and saw what it was, I threw it in the trash quickly, like I had been shocked by it.
Nothing is going on my eyes. I still wear lipstick, but nothing on or near my eyes.
I feel normal today. There is no swelling or bruising. The stitched area is tight, but that's fine.

Karen, that was the first thing I did!
I carry a stylish messenger bag to work. Throughout the week, it gets full and heavy. I switched to a small purse just big enough for the necessities. That's what I'm carrying now.
