Hi everyone,
Has anyone ever had a stem cell shot?
Friday, I am getting one. It's stem cell from me.
I'll be at a surgical center for a few hours.
2 weeks later another one from me.
Then a 3rd shot 2 weeks after that.
Very fortunate that my insurance will pick-up most of that.
It's at least a $1,000 a shot.
It is for tears in my Achilles.
I'm wearing a knee high walking cast now.
Thanks for all the responses!

That sounds so medically advanced! Who (med facility) is doing this? I didn't know they were using it yet.

@shoppersince1989, I have no idea about this, but I hope that it goes well for you. Please let us know.

My podiatrist is doing this.
We are hoping to speed up the healing of my Achilles tendinitis.
Blood (stem cell) is taken from me, then put into a device that spins it around.
He'll give me something to help with the pain.
Because after that, I get the shot in my achilles.
I jokingly asked if it will help with other ailments.
Nope.
Darn.

Please let us know how it goes. I’m considering this type of treatment for my knee. I had a total knee replacement 14 months ago and have an awful time recovering. They say my other will need to be replaced, but I’ve seen articles on the Stem Cell Treatment for knees. I wish you the best and hope to hear that it’s a great success.

Fascinating! Hope it works well for both of you!

I do know of a facility in Seattle that is doing this.

My pain management doctor does this treatment. He’s had good success. For a shoulder it is $5000, not covered by insurance.
He said results lasted about 6 months.
Good Luck

Excited to hear how it goes for you.
I just got out of a boot for achilles tendonosis, and three months of PT. Still having some discomfort. Just want to get back to hiking. My doctor won't go in and do any shots in there.
My daughter had PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections for a UCL tear. That didn't do a thing for her, but I hear some people have positive outcomes.
